Chanticleer Wine Country Cottage

Overlooking Southwest Mountains, Chanticleer Cottage sits on 55 acres of farmland with restful country views but within minutes of Charlottesville, Gordonsville, Barboursville, Orange, Woodberry, Virginia's historic sites--Monticello, Montpelier, and Univ of Virginia--and many scenic wineries. Even with the pastoral setting, the Cottage is close to family as well as elegant, refined dining. The Cottage is a wonderful option for extended family visits, weddings, graduations, and winery touring. The space The 1100-square-foot, fully furnished cottage has high ceilings, a spacious dining and living area with gas fireplace, two and one-half bedrooms (an office or nursery), one and one-half baths, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, an outside balcony with mountain views, and a front deck overlooking a landscaped garden. Please note that Chanticleer Cottage has stairs to a separate and private entrance, but it is attached to Chanticleer Farmhouse and could be considered an apartment. However, there is no passageway from the main house to the cottage. The cottage has a separate heat pump so that guests can set the thermostat to suit their personal preference. The cottage has a cast-iron gas fireplace. Guest access Chanticleer Cottage makes a terrific base for families to relax and "hang out" before and after football, basketball, and baseball games, graduations, spring garden tours or fall "leaf week" visits; for holiday country excursions such as winery tours; and for other special events such as wine festivals. Other things to note Note that our base price is for one person and for additional guests, there is an additional charge of $30 per person/per night. However, for a family requesting a stay of more than a few nights, we can adjust the price. Chanticleer Cottage can easily accommodate two couples or a family in addition to a couple or singles.
