This three-bed property, with spacious verandah, sits in an old stone quarry with views to Nairobi National Park. If you are seeking tranquility within 30 minutes of the city in an area of outstanding natural beauty, then this is the place for you. The space Quarry Cottage is stone built with an open plan living space, artisan-made furniture, two double and one single bedroom, a bathroom with shower and bath, rooftop verandah. The 4 m wide verandah on three sides of the house provides a natural viewing platform to the park and is furnished with a large dining table, safari chairs, and a sofa. If the weather proves a bit chilly, then a fire can be lit indoors. The cottage sits within a 2 acre plot all of which is accessible by guests. Guest access Bed and breakfast : currently not available. I have space for a maximum of 5 people in two doubles and one single. The house costs approx 8 000 ksh per night for up to 6 nights. Ask for rates if staying longer. The minimum booking period is 2 nights. This arrangement gives access to all three bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 5 people on a self-catering basis. Currently a let for the whole house costs approximately 8 000 ksh per night, 46 000 ksh or 345 sterling per week/133 000 ksh (1000 sterling) per month, with a higher rate for Christmas (24, 25, 26 December) and New Year (31, 1, 2 January) : 15 000 per night. My house is currently available for both long and short terms lets. The rate is set by airbnb according to local demand. This includes the services of a gardener who can provide seasonal produce from the vegetable garden and deal with any issues relating to the house and its surroundings. Christopher will welcome you to Quarry Cottage, and be available on call in case of any issues arising within the property. It is a simple functional space with gas/electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, all available for the use of guests. Other things to note Other visitors to be aware of are baboons, who can be alarming. Ignore them and they will go away. Make sure your car doors and the front door to the house are closed when they are nearby. Monkeys are also regular visitors so do close windows when you go out, and keep an eye on them as they are very wiley.
