Your private room is a simple, hotel-style room with one queen bed and a private bath located at Eaden in the Alleghenies Retreat facility, a beautiful 26-mile drive from Snowshoe Mountain. Eaden boasts a cozy Wifi Cafe' with a fireplace, laundry facility, and staff ready to meet your need. All this makes Eaden the perfect place to crash at the end of a long day adventuring in Nature's Mountain Playground. All proceeds go to the ministries of Ambassadors for Christ based at Eaden AFC. Your room, one of six rooms, all a part of one of the hotel-style units Ambassadors for Christ Ministries acquired from the Gaithwright Dam project in Virginia which ended in the early '80s. Each unit has a covered porch with benches and chairs to relax on. Each space is clean, cozy, and comfortable regardless of the character brought on by the years. The walls are thin so we ask for consideration of neighboring guests. We are a low-tech facility by design, offering a place to unplug and breathe. Keep this in mind as you book. The Cafe' & Kitchen (common areas) built from timber off the mountain have good Wifi at all times. The hotel rooms have intermittent Wifi. We provide all linens, but DO NOT provide shower soaps. On the 13 acre property there is a fire pit, picnic pavilion, Wifi Cafe' and laundry facility that you are welcome to use throughout your stay. Our team members are here to ensure the most comfortable memory-making adventure Eaden in the Alleghenies can offer. If you don't see one of us around the property don't hesitate to reach out via the Airbnb app or just pop up to the house/office with any requests, questions, or concerns. Our 13-acre retreat is nestled between Marlin and Brown Mountains in the Allegheny Range just outside Marlinton. Marlinton, the county seat for Pocahontas County, is a short 15-minute drive with sights and activities worthy of note: The Greenbrier Trail, Pocahontas County Opera House; The 4th Avenue Gallery; Cackling Hens & The Mason Jar. We are located 26 miles from Snow Shoe Mountain and within a one-hour scenic drive, there are many other amazing things to see and do: Green Bank Telescope; Bear Town State Park; Cass Scenic Railroad, etc. Whether you are looking to escape into natural beauty and solitude or looking for outdoor mountain adventure you will find it all on the property or within a short drive. There is no public transportation. If you are heading our way in the winter: The roads surrounding our area are well maintained and we keep our property clear however, it is better to be prepared for icy, heavy snow conditions if the need arises. Please note cell service is limited in our area. Eaden does offer Wifi in the common areas. Some carriers allow "Wifi Calling." Regarding Grocery Markets: We are located 5 minutes from Huntersville which has a mini-mart only. We are 20-25 minutes from Marlinton which has an IGA, a couple Dollar Stores and a Rite-Aid. If you are planning a late arrival you will need to have already stopped for your food goods.
