The space In days gone by, a shepherd’s hut would be used by shepherds tending their flock, particularly during lambing season. Bringing a touch of luxury to this traditional hut, The Hogget (a young sheep) is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay. Park your car or secure your bike and enjoy a short stroll to the hut, which overlooks the surrounding hills and Loch Voil. Set in a private spot on the edge of the owner’s property, The Hogget Hut has been carefully positioned to offer seclusion, peace, and privacy. Inside, the hut features a fully equipped kitchenette with a Belfast sink, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and induction hob (please note: unsuitable for guests with a pacemaker). Wooden shutters and a wood-burning stove create a warm, cosy atmosphere in the evenings, while ample storage, including deep drawers and a hanging area, completes the internal space. Outside, guests can unwind in the wood-fired hot tub, gather around the fire pit with grill or enjoy the Nordic-style BBQ hut (BBQ Hut subject to availability). The perfect place to while away the evening hours in style. Please enquire prior to arrival regarding BBQ hut availability. Guests are reminded to bring their own food for their stay. For essentials, Strathyre village shop is just a 10-minute drive away, while larger shops can be found in Killin or Callander. The wood-fired hot tub is natural and chemical-free. One hot tub session is included per two-night stay. Additional sessions can be arranged for an extra fee of £25. The hosts reserve the right to refuse hot tub use in certain circumstances such as adverse weather. The wood-fired tub takes on average 2 hours to heat, depending on the time of year. During the winter months, availability of the hot tub cannot be guaranteed. A starter pack of fuel for your stay is included (wood for the stove and charcoal for BBQ hut), with additional supplies available at £5 a tub. Guest access Guests have access to a designated parking space adjacent to the owners property, approximately 50 meters from the hut. There are grass tracks surrounding the hut which guests are invited to explore to enjoy the surrounding views. Other things to note Please note that access to the hut requires a short walk along a rough path, which may be unsuitable for guests with mobility difficulties.
