Description

The cottage looks like a traditional fisherman's cottage, painted white with red shutters and a red door, but walk through the heavy wooden door and you enter a modern, white interior full of light and surprisingly spacious. The cottage sits right on the margin of the North Sea with only a sea wall and its Bankhead above the stoney beach. The space is open plan as are the sleeping spaces upstairs . It's a peaceful comfortable place to be . The space Crovie is a special place- the best preserved ex fishing village in Scotland. The cottage is right on the sea wall which runs through the village so the sea is always present. The cottage is beautifully decorated and comfortable and very special. The cottage is about 300 years old but has everything to make your stay comfortable, warm and delightful. The sleeping spaces are reached up a very steep stairway - because of the open upstairs space, the cottage is not suitable for toddlers. The sleeping spaces are open plan - there are no doors between the spaces I may be available during your stay but will be contactable before ,during and after your stay Crovie is a quiet and relaxing place. There are no amenities in the village. There are very few permanent residents but those that there are are respectful of the environment as should all visitors be. A car is essential. There are local buses from the nearby village but they are few and far between. A car will allow you to best see the glory of the countryside. The nearest shops are in Macduff and Banff, about 20 minutes drive away, although there is a Spar in Gardenstown, to which you can walk round the bay or along the new cliff top path , and a new shop- The Wee Shoppie - in the main street in Gardenstown . To have a new shop in the village is a great addition . The cottage is reached by a short walk along the sea bank. There is no car access. Cars are left in the nearby carpark and luggage is wheeled in a barrow by you along the bank to the cottage. There is no disabled access. Guest access You will have the whole space and in warm weather there is a lovely outside sitting space Other things to note The cottage is reached by a short walk along the sea bank. There is no car access. Cars are left in the nearby carpark and luggage is wheeled in a barrow by you along the bank to the cottage. There is no disabled access.
