Our bright, airy self-contained flat offers you a relaxing retreat with glorious views out to the sea. You can look forward to sitting on your private balcony with a drink after a day on the beach, or warm up in the hot tub after a blustery walk with views down the valley to the beach. Or snuggle up on the comfy chairs reading a book or playing board games. It’s an easy walk down into the village to enjoy some local beers at the pub, or you can eat some tasty food at the village bistro. The space The apartment offers a cheerful and comfortable open-plan space situated on the side of the valley so that you can fully enjoy the views of both sea and woodland. There are two double bedrooms, both accessed off the main living area, a well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a large shower. Our apartment would be a perfect stay for two couples, or a family of up to five people. The larger bedroom has direct access to the balcony and gives you the opportunity to gaze at the sea from the comfort of your double bed. The second bedroom has a comfortable platform double bed which also offers a cosy space underneath in which children are welcome to build cushion forts, or a single blow-up mattress can be placed should a younger child need a bed closer to the ground. During the summer months, the beach is an easy 10 minute downhill walk and the year-round dog access means your furry friends can join you there too. If you are feeling more active there are a multitude of walks for you to discover directly from the house. There are extensive woodlands to explore, a meandering and gentle stream through the country park and also the stunning South West Coastal Path. There is a hot tub and a barbecue available for your use, both of which are a perfect way to end your day. Guest access The apartment is on the ground floor of our home. You will have access to the whole of that ground floor, your private balcony, the hot tub (upon prior arrangement) and the barbecue area. The balcony can be made entirely secure so children and dogs can stay safe. Other things to note For those of you wishing to use the hot tub, we charge an extra fee of £20 (to be paid in cash upon arrival) and we ask that you please let us know in advance whether you'd like to use it or not. To ensure the hot tub meets our high standards of cleanliness, we completely empty and deep clean the hot tub in between guests. This means that there is a small possibility that it may not be quite up to temperature on your first night, and that we may ask you not to use it after a certain time on your last day. We obviously try to avoid this situation as much as possible. For some 2 day stays, if there are guests booked either side of your chosen dates, who have already requested the hot tub, it might not be possible to make it available to you, hence the need to request it in advance. There is a £20 fee for the preparation and use of the hot tub, which is payable in cash when you arrive. Please note that this is a simple hot tub, not a fibreglass spa. It has a vinyl skin and this has repairs on the rim where sunlight has hardened the vinyl. The inside of the tub is not affected. It is comfortable and easy to use and maintain. We will deal with any chemicals that need to be used, and will suggest some simple things you can do to help to maintain the clarity of the water. You will be the only people using the tub. We will send you detailed instructions of how to get to the apartment as Sat-Nav doesn’t bring you the whole way. Please ensure that you have a copy of them as phone signal can be very weak in the village. There are 20 steps from the parking area to the apartment, and one step inside the apartment. The Brakers is situated in a residential lane. Most of the houses have full time residents, but there are a few other holiday lets.
