Arthur's Seat Views | Top-Floor Holyrood Retreat
Arthur's Seat Views | Top-Floor Holyrood Retreat
Description
Wake up to Arthur's Seat through your window in this peaceful, beautifully prepared top-floor flat beside Holyrood Palace. It's a proper Edinburgh home - full of books, art and character - stocked and cared for as though a thoughtful friend had prepared it for you. The space The flat sits on the top floor of a traditional 1890 Edinburgh tenement, full of natural light and open views towards Arthur's Seat. It's designed to feel like a home rather than a rental, with contemporary furnishings, original art, and a collection of play scripts from my drama background. You'll find a quiet double bedroom with blackout blinds, a brand-new bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bright living space with TV, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth speaker and two DAB radios. I've tried to think of everything. The flat is stocked with good coffee, herbal teas, hot chocolate, fresh milk, breakfast ingredients and a welcome tin of biscuits. A chilled bottle of Edinburgh's exceptionally good tap water is in the fridge - I've left a note about where it comes from, because it's worth knowing. For getting out and exploring: there's a picnic blanket and bag, a thermos flask, binoculars for the views, a portable Bluetooth speaker, a torch, and both a large and small umbrella - because this is Edinburgh. The kitchen has oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and sugar. Toiletries, handcream, sanitary goods, a first aid kit and toothpaste are there if you need them. International adapters, a USB-C charging cable and USB sockets throughout cover everything else. My leather-bound local guide is on the table. It's my personal recommendations for the best the neighbourhood and city have to offer: the coffee worth seeking out, the Saturday morning ritual, the thing many visitors miss. My cleaner Hannah keeps the flat immaculate - the consistent 5.0 cleanliness score across nearly 1,000 reviews reflects her care as much as mine. Guest access The apartment is entirely yours during your stay. A spare set of keys is provided. Check-in is via key safe at the entrance, so you can arrive at your convenience. Check-in and check-out times are flexible where possible - just let us know your travel plans and expected arrival when you book. Other things to note Abbeyhill and Maryfield are charming, leafy and genuinely local - the kind of Edinburgh neighbourhood that residents are quietly pleased visitors haven't fully discovered yet. There are excellent independent cafés, artisan bakeries, a renowned wine shop, a greengrocer, a health food shop and a well-stocked grocery store, all within a short walk. Holyrood Park and Arthur's Seat are on your doorstep - perfect for an early morning walk, a run, or a picnic afternoon. The Royal Mile is ten minutes away, Princes Street fifteen. Leith - one of Europe's most exciting food and culture neighbourhoods - is easily reached on foot or by the nearby tram, which also connects directly to the airport. The flat is on the top floor of a traditional Edinburgh tenement - there are stairs to climb, but they're worth it for the light and the views. Licensed and safety checked by Edinburgh Council.
