Description
Half way between Bath and Bristol is our charming and cosy eighteenth century newly renovated old stable. This unique space is the perfect retreat for two in a village location with Georgian Bath six miles in one direction and vibrant Bristol six miles in the other. And when you want to escape from the delights of these very different cosmopolitan centres there are many beautiful walks here on the edge of the Cotswolds to explore, with two lovely country pubs within walking distance. The space The Old Stable is a new conversion using traditional building techniques such as lime wall plastering, lime washing and keeping flagstone floors and even the old manger. It is a tiny, but very welcoming space. Guests can park in front of the house or if you dislike reversing out onto the main road you can park round the corner in the layby on Golden Valley Lane. The entrance is through a panelled porch area. The porch has a freestanding fridge freezer and space to hang coats, store suitcases and leave boots. There is a selection of vintage games for rainy days and a rug for sunny ones. The sitting room/dining/kitchen has a comfortable green velvet sofa, dining table for four and tiny kitchen area which can be closed off so that it looks like an armoire. On this level is a shower room, and behind mirrored doors is a washing machine and drier. Upstairs is a comfortable double bed and cupboard space to hang clothes, as well as a vintage chair to sit and read. Guest access There is a driveway for guests to park on.
