Three double rooms with breakfast in lovely old stone house in rural Durango. Sleeps 6 people, complementary fold-up bed for small child available, one room with ensuite bathroom and two twins sharing bathroom opposite. Further bathroom on ground floor together with sitting and dining rooms, kitchen and outside terrace, which are also for your sole use. The space Our stone-built house in a country area of Biscay is a great base for visiting the cities of Bilbao, (30 mins away), San Sebastián & Vitoria, with great walking in the beautiful Urkiola National Park on our doorstep, and the chance to experience life in a small Basque village. 10 mins walk from the picturesque old town of Abadiño, and 3 kms. from Durango with its good public transport links & motorway from Bilbao. We have 3 pretty double rooms, 2 x twin sharing a bathroom & 1 x double with own bathroom, on the top floor of our house with a comfortable sitting room for guests, use of kitchen and dining rooms, and outside terrace with view of the nearby hills. Possibility of supplementary bed in larger twin room for young children. We have our own flat on the 1st floor so you can make yourselves totally at home downstairs and there is another bathroom with shower on this ground floor if you need it. The house is on a bus route from Bilbao, and near motorway and train line Bilbao-San Sebastián. The price includes breakfast which may be served at a time to suit you or left out if you prefer to be independent. There is Wifi in the whole house, and we have lots of ideas and info on things to do in the area, whether you fancy days out in the city, exploring the lovely Biscay coast and beaches, or doing some of the wonderful walking routes in the mountains nearer home. The lovely historic town of Elorrio is a 10 minute bus journey away, and there are plenty of things to do locally from bird-watching to rock-climbing, horse-riding etc. apart from getting to know the local towns and villages and sampling the marvellous Basque food e.g. 4 kms from 'Asador Etxebarri' (now number 13 on the '50 best restaurants in world' list), and 8 kms from also Michelin-starred 'Boroa'. We can give you tips about many other good local places to eat and enjoy your time here. We love having people to stay and look forward to making you feel at home. Sole use of second floor, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and laundry room. Outside terrace, use of gas bbq also available During your stay Hosts have own flat on first floor, so we share front entrance and access through to the stairs with you. We can be as available as you need for info and help on the local area, or keep totally out of your way, as you prefer. Other things to note We prefer not to host groups for weddings or stag/hen parties to avoid disturbing our neighbours in this quiet rural district. We hope you understand.
