Carradale Kintyre - cozy Victorian cottage

Take the long and winding road to Carradale - this end of terrace Victorian stone built cottage provides a cosy retreat for couples or small family. Airds Wood Cottage is situated in the centre of this peaceful village, just a few minutes walk from the working harbour and a selection of forest walks. Choice of 3 glorious beaches within 6 miles. The golf course is just a minute away and village pub and selection of eateries within walking distance. Dogs are welcome - first 2 dogs free. The space Beautifully renovated cottage in the heart of this peaceful 'end of the road' village. Small but well planned kitchen leads into the open plan dining/lounge area with wood burning stove and old style parquet floor. Downstairs bathroom with over bath shower and heated towel rail. Quality towels provided. Upstairs is a comfy king size bed with views to the front out over the golf course and beyond to Ailsa Craig. To the rear you have a view over the grass to the woods beyond. Great spot for watching the birds come and go! Lots of lovely tracks and paths to wander around the village - forget the car and just take time to slow down and explore what nature has to offer. Range of maps provided to help you explore and a good selection of books and DVDs to immerse yourself in whilst enjoying the woodburning stove of an evening. Ideal place to unwind and enjoy some quality time together! Check calendar for availability! Guest access Your stay will be in a self contained end of terrace Victorian cottage. There is vehicular access to the side door for unpacking your belongings, however, this is a shared access road so cars will need to park on the road to the front of the cottage. There is a wood store to the rear which also has space for storage of bikes. There is no enclosed garden but the grassed area to the rear of the cottages is a communal space shared with the other 5 cottages in the row. Here you will find a private seating area surrounded by tubs of flowers and a communal drying green. A path leads from the top left of this area into Airds Wood - great for children and dog walks. Other things to note Petrol Stations - nearest is Campbeltown (15 miles) or Lochgilphead (41 miles) so fill up when you can. We have a small shop in the village and nearest supermarkets are Campbeltown (15 miles) or Tarbert (25 miles). You might wish to do a small shop on your way down. We normally shop in Campbeltown - various small independant shops plus Coop and Tesco. Pets are welcome - dog towels, blankets and poo bags provided. First 2 dogs by agreement and are included in price. Extra dogs by prior agreement and will incur an additional cleaning fee of £10 per dog per week or part thereof. Fee payable on arrival please.
