Indulge in the rustic charm of our beachfront loghome featuring soaring double-height beamed ceilings, wood finishes throughout, a central stone hearth fireplace, an open-plan layout, a loft area with a balcony, and an outdoor dining space. My friends who come to visit for the day often say they feel like they're on holiday. Architecture: The Loghouse was built in 1977 from giant yellow cedar logs milled on-site. The natural finishes continue throughout the house with river rock fireplace, granite countertops, hardwood and slate stone floors throughout. Due to its unique typology amidst contemporary homes in the neighborhood, it was a regular stop for tour buses over many years. Connections: From the beach out front you are connected by greenways & bikeways to the very best that Vancouver offers: to the west is UBC, the Museum of Anthropology & nudist Wreck Beach; east is Jericho Beach year round sailing, Folk Festival, Kits Beach, Granville Island, downtown & Stanley Park. 4th, 9th and 10th Avenues nearby have lots of good dining & shopping Technology: We encourage our guests to be as unplugged as possible however we have 600 mbps broadband internet with wifi access throughout the house, a television in the main bedroom and a projector TV in the living room. Feel free to use our landline for no-charge local calling and our guest smartphone (with free data, North America calling & international texting). Decks: Off the main floor there is a large side & front deck barbecue and entertainment area. The decks over the carport and off the main and number 2 bedrooms on the upper floor are unfinished and will be renovated off season (when no guests are present). Guest access Guests may access the Loghouse from the front steps (front door with 4 digit numeric lock) or from a side door on the westside deck. Other things to note The Loghouse is a $40 cab fare, $52 limo fare from the airport, or from downtown a $22 cab fare.. It is well served by public transit; depending on your destination stops, buses are all within 10 minutes walk: for more information on public transit see translink dot ca.
