Mossgiel is a character Edwardian semi detached house built in 1906 and set in semi rural surroundings in the quiet hamlet of Sutton Weaver in Cheshire. As a dog lover I share my house with Mr. Ice who is a well behaved Labrador. A dog that simply loves to be made a fuss of. I have a strict no smoking rule for the house but you can smoke in the garden where I will even provide you with a chair and an ashtray. And maybe an umbrella! All guests will be assured a warm welcome. The space The house is centrally heated although I have a log burner in the rear lounge and a coal burning open fire in the front lounge. My back lounge has a wide screen tv and Prime Video should you want to keep tabs on ‘Strictly’ You will have your own fridge and freezer and are most welcome to use the kettle, microwave/oven and air fryer. There is a shower room and toilet upstairs and a toilet downstairs. Wifi is also available and there are coffee and tea making facilities in your room though please feel free to brew up in my kitchen where I will provide the tea coffee milk and even the odd biscuit as part of the hospitality. I have a large garden to the rear of my house and you are most welcome to use it to chill out on those barmy summer evenings and weekends. I also have a large garage and workshop in which you can safely store your bicycle. Motorcycles can be stored behind locked gates on my patio unless of course you turn up on a SS100 Brough Superior in which case you can keep it in the garage alongside my 1937 Morris 8 . I have a large gated drive should you require off road secure parking however you may park on the road, which is quiet , immediately in front of my house Guest access You will have full access to the bedroom. shower room , front lounge and garden. Should you want some private time then you can have exclusive use of the front lounge that has an open fire in winter. The house is centrally heated but I also use a wood burning stove in the rear lounge during winter. My house is well equipped with wall mounted grab handles, placed at strategic places, should your mobility be restricted. There are also additional bannister rails on the staircase. My only rule is no outdoor shoes upstairs. Even Mr. Ice is not allowed upstairs! My house is half way between Lands end and John o Groats for those long distance bikers and hikers! However, if you prefer the city is also well communicated with public transport with the lovely city of Chester, and the thriving cities of Liverpool and Manchester as well as with their airports. As a dog lover I share my house with Mr. Ice who is a well behaved Labrador. A dog that simply loves to be made a fuss of and would love to join you for a walk in the beautiful paths around the canals nearby! I have a strict no smoking rule for the house but you can smoke in the garden where I will even provide you with a chair and an ashtray. And maybe an umbrella! I can provide secure parking for motorcycles at the rear of my house and garage space for cycles. Breakfast is cereal of your choice or toast with tea/coffee/juice. I am more than willing to pick you up and drop you off , without charge, from the local train/ bus station as part of your stay Should you wish to stay for longer than seven days then we need to discuss the availability. All guests will be assured a warm welcome. Other things to note Mossgiel is set in a quiet semi rural setting with excellent motorway and rail links. It is also 20 minutes away from Liverpool airport and 25 minutes away from the Manchester one. The centre of Runcorn or the village of Frodsham are only 5 minutes away by car or bus. Frodsham is an attractive market town with several interesting pubs, Indian, Chinese and English restaurants which you can dine in or have it delivered at the house at a reasonable cost. In twenty minutes drive you can find Cheshire Oaks a large major retail park, a dream come true for all who require retail therapy or want to spent an evening in the cinema or at the bowling alley. There is also a smaller shopping complex a mile away in Runcorn. The house is 20 minutes from the beautiful county town of Chester and 30 minutes from the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester that cater admirably for tourists ranging from numerous art galleries to nightclubs according to your tastes. There is a large supermarket less than 15 minutes walk from my house, which is also surrounded by several country walks around the fields or canals. I am three miles away from the site of the Creamfields music festival, for which I would recommend early booking as it gets very busy. Should you wish to travel further, the Peak District in Derbyshire and Snowdonia in Wales are popular tourist destinations. I have secure parking at the rear of the house and also brick garage should you arrive on a SS100 Brough Superior!. You are welcome to use my workshop facilities. I have a strict no smoking rule for the house but you can smoke in the under cover garden area where I will even provide you with a table, chair and an ashtray.
