Tucked away in the woods at the end of an unmade track, the Roundhouse is a cosy, picture-perfect 18th-century smallholder’s cottage. Nestled by a stream with its own waterfall, large garden, and luxury hot tub (optional extra), it’s the perfect place to unwind and relax in peaceful surroundings. Deceptively spacious, it comfortably sleeps 4 and is ideal for couples, walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers. Endless glorious walks start from the front door, with a hot tub to soak in when you return. The space The Roundhouse is a secluded and spacious private cottage with a unique octagonal shape — you can walk in a circle through each room around the cottage. The lounge has two large comfy sofas and a cosy wood-burning fire, perfect for chilly evenings. There are plenty of books, puzzles, games, a Bluetooth speaker, DVDs, and a smart TV to keep you entertained on rainy days. Each room has two large windows overlooking the gardens, stream, or waterfall. The kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with an oven, halogen hob, microwave, air fryer, Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and all the utensils you could need. The main bathroom has a bath and toilet. Up a step, the double bedroom has a kingsize bed, large wardrobe, dressing table, and double-aspect windows with garden views. Adjoining this is the twin bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet, two single beds, wardrobe with drawers, a toy box filled with puzzles and toys, and a bookcase with a selection of books. Both bedrooms have quality linen, towels, and robes. The cottage nestles in an idyllic and peaceful setting by a pretty stream and waterfall, surrounded by its own garden and National Trust land. Reached via an unmade track and over a small footbridge, it doesn’t get much more rural than this — perfect for a quiet countryside hideaway. Guest access Guests have full use of the cottage and garden during their stay. There is an outdoor hose for washing off muddy boots or dogs, the log/recycling shed has a padlock should you wish to bring your bicycles and secure them away. Outside the large garden wraps around the cottage, adjacent to the property is the spacious patio area with private cedar wood hot tub and picnic bench, there is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, barbecue and cushions. Welcome Tray & Somerset Cream Tea Start your stay with a classic Somerset cream tea, freshly prepared with scones, clotted cream, and jam. Available by advance request. Pricing: £20 for 2 people £30 for 4 people 3. Well-Behaved Dog Bring one well-behaved dog to enjoy the Roundhouse and its garden. Doggy basket with blankets, towels, and treats provided. Pricing: £30 per stay- The garden is not overlooked. There are some old farm buildings at the top of the garden -Parking for 2 cars on the track. -Children are welcome but must be supervised around the stream, bridge and waterfall; gated steps provide extra safety. -The Quantocks are an unspoiled paradise for nature lovers, with endless walking and mountain biking trails starting from the cottage.
