Emmetts on Exmoor, a West Country Wilderness

At 1250 feet, Emmetts on Exmoor is the highest farm on the moor. It is the ideal location for a peaceful break in the heart of Exmoor National Park and offers fantastically clean air and spectacular skies. Emmetts was built in the 1840s and is generally considered to be the best example of a Knight House. A host of local activities are just a stones throw away: walking, mountain biking, horse riding, sailing, fishing, shooting and country house tours, to name but a few! The space The house is unique, not only because of it's one of a kind location, but also because of it's history. A large amount of restoration has taken place in the first half of 2020 and further works will continue over the course of the next year. The estate boasts 900 acres of private grounds which guests are most welcome to explore. The walks are spectacular and there are picnic spots and babbling brooks a plenty! Guests can also make use of the full size on site tennis court throughout the year. -Threshing Barn available for parties, dinners, celebrations, weddings, talks- seats up to 80 people, Sonos surround sound speaker system, large flat screen T.V and private chef/ catering team available -Rent a stable. Guest access Emmetts is set in the heart of a beautiful agricultural and moorland estate which straddles Kinsford Water. The south-easterly views from the house are uninterrupted and look out across the front lawn to the dramatic slope of Hangley Cleave. The lawn boasts a patio with teak dining table along with a charcoal barbecue. The house has benefitted from some refurbishments over recent months - all rooms have been decorated and further improvements will take place in the coming year. Other things to note There is no mobile phone signal at the farm so you will need to log on to the WiFi (super fast BT full fibre!) once you are inside to use your phone.
