Wachapreague is a quiet seaside fishing village and nature getaway with wild islands offshore - perfect for biking, kayaking, birding, boating, and exploring the eastern shore. This spacious 4BR 2BA house 1 block from the waterfront has all the comforts of home with high ceilings, wood floors and nice screened in porch to enjoy the sea breeze. Equil distance from Chincoteague and Cape Charles for exploring the shore.. Enjoy the local season restaurant and art studio in town - book an ecotour. The space This house faces the ocean salt marsh a block away with water views. Enjoy the screened in porch with nice sea breezes to watch the town and nature move together. This 2-story home has an elevated first floor accessible by steps up - inside are high ceilings, wood floors, and plaster walls and big windows befitting a 1920 style home. Ceiling fans in every room keep the central heat/a/c circulating for comfort. The 4 bedrooms upstairs contain one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, one full bedroom, and a additional king bed with a twin bed. There are two full bathrooms with a shower/tub combination. . The one upstairs is newly remodeled for comfort. The kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee maker, oven, microwave, blender, electric stove refrigerator and dishwasher with a separate dining area with a big table and chairs. We have basic cooking utensils and silver wear to use during your stay. A small charcoal grill is available for outdoor cooking. There is a private driveway and plenty of space for cars and trailers/boats. We are pet friendly and will ask for a $75 fee per pet. We just ask that pets remain off the beds/furniture and not left unattended. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house except for the locked attic and owners closet. The garage is not accessible to guests. For a fee of $25 an early check in is available. A late checkout, provided with advance notice for $25. Other things to note Extra person over 6 is $25 per ight. The $75 pet fee is per pet. Bring your bike, boat, kayak, fish or bird watch or drop a crab pot to enjoy this seaside community. The a seafood restaurant in town has a happy hour and great water views a block away (The island house restaurant - check hours) The historic town has an art gallery a small bait shop and a general store with great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The town is quiet and friendly with fisherman and tourists and townsfolk all mingling together. Its a special place to relax and enjoy. Come experience this beautiful place centrally located on the seaside of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The Virginia Coastal Reserve of protected barrier islands is just off shore and is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Book an eco-tour or hire a fishing charter to explore the inshore salt marsh and barrier islands. Note cell phone reception is weak so plan to use Wifi calling on your cell phone during your stay (works well).
