Country Living in a Forest Setting
Country Living in a Forest Setting
Description
Come stay in your own cozy mini apartment, a little over 25 minutes from the Portland suburbs, and about 45 minutes from downtown Portland. Our home sits on two wooded acres. You'll have a private deck, private bathroom, private entrance, and private living space. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a futon/sofa in the living area that makes a shorter twin-size bed. Check-in time is after 4 pm. Early check-in is possible, just contact us. No Smokers! One pet on approval, up to 45lbs. The space Welcome to Your Private Guest Suite! Originally an attached garage, this fully remodeled space has been transformed into a cozy, private apartment with its own entrance and a private deck. Whether you are traveling for work or leisure, we continuously upgrade the space to ensure a comfortable stay. The Space & Amenities More than just a bedroom, this suite includes a dedicated living area, kitchenette, and private bathroom with excellent hot water pressure. Sleeping Arrangements: A comfortable main bed, plus a sofa/futon in the living area that converts to a slightly shorter twin bed (complete with a 3-inch memory foam topper and bedding located in the dresser). Kitchenette: Equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, hot plate, toaster, Keurig, small crockpot, and basic cookware/dishes. We also stock a coffee/tea station, instant oatmeal, and snacks! Drinking Water: Our tap water is fresh, clean well water—perfect for refilling your water bottles. Entertainment: Enjoy Netflix, basic cable, and streaming via Amazon Fire Stick. Outdoor Area: Relax on your own private deck, perfect for morning coffee or outdoor dining. Location & Privacy (What to Expect) The suite shares a wall with our laundry room, which you have access to as needed. A Note on Sound: Because this is an attached unit to our active household, you may occasionally hear normal living sounds, particularly if you stay indoors all day. However, we have recently invested in upgraded soundproofing to ensure a peaceful stay, and most guests find the space incredibly quiet. Pet Policy We are happy to welcome your furry friends with a few guidelines: Please keep pets off the furniture and clean up after them outdoors. Breed Restrictions: Due to insurance policy limitations, we unfortunately cannot host Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, or German Shepherds. Cleanliness & Safety We follow rigorous cleaning protocols to ensure a safe environment: Sanitization: High-touch surfaces (knobs, switches) are fully disinfected. Guest Supplies: Extra cleaning supplies are provided in the suite for your convenience. During the summer months, a window AC unit and fan are installed to keep you perfectly cool. We look forward to hosting you! Guest access The guest unit has a private entry with deck, bathroom, sitting room, kitchenette, and bedroom. Access to free, off-street parking and our shared laundry area. Other things to note If you are not a native Oregonian, please know that Oregon is lush and green, and to keep it that way, we get a lot of rain! We Oregonians have webbed feet and enjoy the pitter-patter of the rain on the roof while we are cozy inside. Springtime is often full of intermittent rain and sun, but summers are wonderful and often last until October, but not as sunny. Winters are generally wet, but mild, and snow rarely makes an appearance. Because we live in the forest under the large Douglas firs, it can seem rather dark in the rainy winter when the days are short and the sun sets between 4:00 and 5:30 on December evenings. I also have a sweet Australian shepherd who is always at my side and never out on her own but she will bark at you. She will REALLY bark at you, like she is really mean.. for 3 seconds and then she wants a scratch. If you are uncomfortable around dogs, please let us know. There is sometimes a bag of dog treats on the table if you wish to treat her. CELL PHONES: We are in a rural area and some cell phone providers may have spotty service here. Verizon works well, and it seems AT&T does well, too. Recently we upgraded to fiber optics and get good internet. My husband is a medical translator and often works from home so we count on good internet for his work, and it works well. If you want to use the washer: The washer is already stocked with automatic soap. If you do not wish to use Tide, or you prefer your own laundry soap, just let me know and I can show you to change the setting so you can use your own,
