Country House – Gîte de France

Located in Saint-Médard (8 km from Celles sur Belle), in the heart of Poitou-Charentes, in a quiet environment, this beautiful country house is classified Gîte de France 3 épis. Facing south, not overlooked, it has an enclosed garden of 1000 m². Ponies are right across the street (except from mid-December to mid-March). The property (6000 m²) also houses a pottery workshop. The space In Saint-Médard (8 km from Celles sur Belle) in the heart of Poitou-Charentes (1 hour from Futuroscope and La Rochelle (beach, old port, aquarium), 1.5 hours from Puy du Fou and the wild coast (Royan, Île d'Oléron, Palmyre zoo), 30 minutes from the Marais-Poitevin and its boat rides...) this beautiful country house will offer you a quiet stay for 4 to 8 people in the Mellois region, a region rich in its historical heritage and its magnificent classified Romanesque churches (Melle and Aulnay). Facing south, without any neighbors, this old manor house built in stone in the 18th century offers an unobstructed view of the countryside and a meadow welcoming 3 ponies (except from mid-December to mid-March). It includes: On the ground floor: - Entrance (8 m²) - Large living/dining room (40 m²) with fireplace, large 8-seater wooden farm table, sofa, armchairs, TV. - Fully equipped kitchen (27 m²): dishwasher, microwave oven, 4-burner gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, old wood stove..., back kitchen (2 m²) - Bathroom with shower and toilet. (15 m²) Upstairs: - 1 bedroom of 25 m² with 1 160 x 200 cm bed. - 1 bedroom of 18 m² with 1 bed of 140 x 200 cm and 1 bed of 90 x 190 cm. - 1 bedroom of 16 m² with 1 bed of 140 x 190 cm and 1 bed of 90 x 190 cm. - 1 TV lounge (100 cm) of 18 m² with sofas and armchairs, DVD player, library. - Bathroom with bathtub (12 m²) - Separate WC. The house is equipped with an internet box (but the speed remains that of the countryside...). Outside you will have a stone table, garden furniture and sun loungers, and a charcoal barbecue. Located in a 6000 m² property with 2 houses and a ceramic artist's workshop (Laurence Molinard, La Poterie des chaumes), the entrance to the property is common but the house has its own enclosed and independent garden (1000 m²). It's a quiet place where you can enjoy the sweetness of the countryside. Do you want to learn pottery? You can combine your stay with pottery workshops/classes for children or adults: - some weeks in July and August: children's course from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - on request: turning/modelling course for adults (modalities to be defined together). The pottery workshop is located a few dozen meters from the house and can be visited on request. Many other activities are accessible nearby: lake with water attractions and/or fishing (3 and 8 km), tree climbing (8 km), zoo (15 km), horseback riding (5 km), municipal swimming pool (8 km), hiking or biking, silver mines (Melle 12 km), local farmers' markets... For your comfort, bed linen is available. Baby equipment (baby bed, baby chair and changing mat) available upon request. Towels provided for an additional fee (5 euros/person/stay). Optional cleaning fee: +100 euros if you don't want to do the cleaning (to be paid on arrival). Additional tourist tax (0.75 euros/person/night). From October 15 to March 31, heating package (central gas): €100/week, to be paid upon arrival. Available year-round. Monthly rental possible outside of July/August. For rentals longer than 3 weeks we do not wish to accommodate more than 5 people. Please note: the gîte is in the municipality of Celles sur Belle, but it is actually 8 km from Celles sur Belle, in the village of SAINT-MEDARD, on the D747 between Prahecq and Brioux sur Boutonne. Guest access The house is located on a 6000 m2 property consisting of 2 houses and a pottery workshop. A 1000 m2 garden is completely enclosed and reserved for the gîte. A meadow with 3 ponies (except December, January, February) is on the property and accessible. The pottery workshop can be visited on request and an introduction is possible.
