Description
The Chalet at Balmacara Mains Guest House offers a unique stay in Scotland for a couple/small family or friends group, at any time of the year. Benefiting from a peaceful country lane location and boasting exceptional coastal views overlooking Lochalsh, Isle of Skye and the mainland, you can enjoy a cosy evening in the open-plan living area, sit back and enjoy the view from our panoramic window! The space The property sleeps 2 and comprises an open plan kitchen/lounge/diner, a Super King bedroom, a shower room, and a laundry room. Outside you have your own private decking with sun loungers and a table and chairs for those more frequent sunny days! Our kitchen is large and well-equipped, allowing you to rustle up your favourite meal and enjoy, whilst taking in the stunning views of the far-reaching coast through the incredible panoramic lounge window! At the end of an evening you can retreat to the Super King bedroom, and enjoy a comfortable nights sleep in quality linens and bedding. The shower room offers a small but modern space with Scottish Fine Soap toiletries and fluffy towels. Waking up from a peaceful nights sleep, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and plan your day - we have an information folder in the main Guest House of nearby attractions, day trips, restaurants etc and staff there are always able to advise on your plans. Guest access Private access to the chalet by a walkway and decking area. Private car parking area is also available. Our staffed check in period runs from 3pm to 5pm, though in high season we often have staffing later. Easy self check in arrangements will be made for those arriving later than our staffed period. We do not serve lunch or evening meals at Balmacara Mains, and therefore recommend making dinner reservations at local restaurants ahead of time as the best places get booked up quickly. Dining recommendations will be sent 2 weeks prior to arrival to aide this. Other things to note Nearby is a selection of shops in the centre of Kyle of Lochalsh - Pharmacy, Coop (food store) and a few gift shops. There is a Spar shop in nearby Reraig also. There are a few local pubs and restaurants locally where you can enjoy some good highland food and seafood. We recommend booking and send out dining recommendations 2 weeks prior to arrival to aide with that. We also have a folder of menus available in the main guest house. We also offer you a cooked breakfast option at the Main House by request - please ask a member of staff - there is an extra cost for this. We recommend having a car as there is very little within walking distance due to our peaceful country location. It's a short drive from our chalet to main local attractions: The Skye Bridge (3m drive) Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie (4m drive) The village of Plockton (6m drive) Please ask for more local info if needed prior to your stay. We are always happy to help!
