Other things to note The construction of the city of Châtel-Guyon is different from that of the other thermal resorts. It was not built around the springs during the time of the Gallo-Roman, like the other towns of Auvergne waters, but around the Calvary hill where farmers sought protection. Peasant life was mainly organized around the vineyard. The city is on the edge of one of the most fertile plains in France: the Limagne.
