When you imagine an escape to the rural world, in the heart of Minho, surrounded by meadows, wild plants and aromatic herbs, birds, wild rabbits and cattle, immersed in a harmonious and peaceful environment, very typical of the villages of Northern Portugal, then this place was made with you in mind! A typical country house, set in lands formerly belonging to the Portuguese Crown, restored in full respect of its design, with natural materials and ancestral techniques. A hymn to the rural and the authentic! The space The property and outdoor spaces have recently been restored under the guidance of the founder of the Ponte de Lima International Garden Festival. Here, the native flora predominates with centuries-old trees, wild herbs, and a vast collection of aromatic herbs, from which the infusions served during the stay are prepared. Rustic gardens, orchard and vegetable garden in organic production mode are available to guests. All with the use of animal manure and vegetable waste with chemical pesticide-free production techniques, to keep alive the tradition and authentic flavor of fruits and vegetables, in honor of nature and our great-grandparents Rosa and Casimiro. In the running water tank, dozens of species of birds, wild rabbits and sheep drink, while Iberian frogs croak in spontaneous symphony. The house is a reference for many details of the vernacular architecture of the Minho region. Its reconstruction was done using traditional materials, using various types of wood, clay and granite from the region. Polychlorinated iron oxides with linseed oils, lime and whitewash replaced paints, with an advantage for the environment and for restoring the authenticity of 19th century architecture. All these materials were already used in the past in this house, and we made a point of using them again, proving that you can do it differently and as a memory of the legacy and ancestral teachings! The house has three bedrooms (all with private bathrooms), a kitchen connected to the dining room, and a living room! The sober interiors are full of details and artifacts of rural life and with wool and rag blankets executed on the loom by the hands of great-grandmother Rosa. Outside, enjoy your family meals in the old barn, have a barbecue, enjoy the sun or take a walk through the village or the mythical Portuguese Way of Santiago...! Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house, outdoor area with barbecue, and protected balcony. SHARED AREAS: The gardens, vegetable garden, fruit trees, parking, laundry and pool area will be shared exclusively with the other house on the property. An area of wild woods and gardens of about 4 ha. Other things to note Don't forget that this is a space of nature and rural environment where the singing of birds, the croaking of frogs and the natural expressions of wild or domestic animals can often interrupt the silence so characteristic of this corner.
