Description
This is one Airbnb room in my home .NOT one of many rooms in an enormous property. So it’s very quiet and what Airbnb is supposed to be all about in my opinion ! Nothing corporate here! The house is situated on a quiet cul de sac overlooking Todmorden with a rural aspect and stunning views over the moors. Town centre 10 minutes walk and behind the house is open countryside for walks. The room is very quiet For a stay of 7 + nights I can offer a free 2 hr lesson on the potters wheel ! The space The room is a good sized double and has its own ensuite. I have provided a comfortable double bed, TV, hairdryer, hot water bottle ,extra blankets, pillows. There are facilities for brewing tea and coffee including a mini fridge for your milk etc. There is also an electric room heater in case you need extra warmth on top of the central heating. As you can see from the photos the room looks out over the garden and the woods behind. The garden has nice sitting areas . Careful on the steps though and use handrails . Although the room is essentially for two adults there is enough space to accommodate a child or even two small ones for a short stay .I can provide a comfortable air bed or a cot for children. The rest of the house has an inviting and cosy feel to it with wooden floors. I’m sorry I don’t accept pets and I don’t have any pets myself . I have a tenant in the basement who very occasionally comes upstairs to the kitchen to use the washing machine . He’s very friendly ! He has his own separate entrance . Guest access In the kitchen there is a microwave and fridge space for your use. Cutlery and plates are also provided. Other types of cooking are not available except by special request from guests staying for more than three nights . You can use the dining room if you need somewhere to eat outside of your room . The garden at the back has patios and a lovely gazebo for cooler or wetter days where you could have your morning coffee or an evening g and t. There's also a bench at the front where you can enjoy the amazing view over the town and the moors beyond . During your stay I can provide you with any local information you need- cafes, places of interest, what’s on, etc. You may already know about the world famous Incredible Edible Todmorden! There are maps and info leaflets in your room . When guests come for a week or more and don’t have a car I mY be able take them out on a trip if requested . The Howarth/Bronte town is nearby as are - Sylvia Plath’s grave and Ann Lister’s home .A bit further for a day trip is the Yorkshire Dales . Any messages between us must be sent via the Airbnb site as I won’t be able to see sms messages from you except after you ve received check in details which is normally 48 hours before your stay . Other things to note There is car parking right in front of the house or under the trees on the left at the top of the last steep track. See ‘Directions’. You will find the location very quiet and peaceful but within easy range of transport , the town centre and things to do. Please note: The wonderful view means It’s all uphill (with last 100m quite steep) coming from Tod town centre- but only 15 minutes on foot. I might be able to help if getting up a hill is challenging for you .If you have mobility difficulties I would recommend a taxi if you are not arriving by car.
