Description

Come stay in comfort in a newly renovated condo surrounded by Redwoods in the heart of Silicon Valley. Easy access to highways 101, 237, & 85; short commutes to the tech companies or fun venues (SF, Monterey etc.) Please check the Airbnb rules: use a clear photo, correct names, & you cannot reserve for another person except as a business. Guests need to speak English. Follow COVID-19 guidelines. My daughter & her husband have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations; my final one is on 17 Mar 21. The space Our condo is 2 stories with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, fireplace, living room, dining room, kitchen & a laundry in the “basement”. Laundry (using washer & dryer) costs $10 total PER use. I had someone wash clothes in the bathroom sink & she disconnected my sink drain 4 times (not allowed: don’t mess with plumbing). In addition, she hung her wet clothes on a peg / wall hook & the dripping clothes ruined/stained the baseboard. So hand washing in the sink is not allowed. Nor may wet or dripping clothes be hung in your room on the wall hooks or anywhere where they drip on my wood floor or baseboards. I can give you a plastic tub (to be used in the bathtub only) if you want to rinse clothes out. They must be hung somewhere where they will not drip on the floor or the baseboard. I will try to find a mat or something to catch drips… Past guests have really badly stained the baseboard when clothes drip on them. 😢 We co-habit with 2 really sweet kitties, so we have new hardwood laminate flooring throughout the house, new oak stairs & new tile in some areas for easy cleaning & throw rugs are washed regularly. Fast AT&T WiFi throughout. Our guest room is located on the 2nd floor & has a large window overlooking our deck where I grow herbs & flowers. Comfortable Queen-size bed with new sheets, pillows & comforter. Large closet & a laundry basket; 1-2 fold-up chairs & a 24" X 16" TV table (or two TV tables if you wish). A hair dryer & pot for heating water (only!) for coffee / tea & as well as flatware, dishes, coffee mugs, and cups are also provided in the room. Hopefully, you will like the tea, instant coffee that you'll find on your dresser to get you started. New bath towels (etc.); we provide soap, shampoo & conditioner. Guests will use a very clean bathroom (shared by the guest(s) in the other Airbnb room). Our neighbors are quiet, mostly high tech white & blue collar professionals & very nice! Guest access Bedroom, Bathroom (shared with other guest room), Kitchen (for light cooking or microwaving), Dining Room, Living Room, Laundry (full loads only$10 per load for wash + dry, please!). We welcome you to use amenities by request. Guests have access to the kitchen to cook or reheat food & can store food in one 4.4 cu. ft. mini-refrigerator shared by guests from both rooms. So far, most guests have not scheduled kitchen time or even made breakfast, tea or coffee. There are a lot of great breakfast & coffee places nearby, so I’m not surprised. During your stay Most of our guests have been here for work-related trips, and have really appreciated the WiFi, the quiet neighborhood & the facilities. We may only see these guests once a day if at all, but love to chat if there’s time. Others are on leisure time, but are buzzing around the Bay Area having fun (I hope!). So far, no one’s used the kitchen much except to make tea. I work and my daughter & her husband will be at classes, studying, working or sleeping, so they are in & out daily but barely have time to say “Hi” to me. The 2 cats are banned from the guest room (keep the door to your room shut, please!), but are very sweet & even the shy one is becoming more friendly! We appreciate "quiet hours" from about 9:30 pm - 6:30 am. No loud conversations / phone calls within that time range, please (it's a bit flexible)...sound carries throughout the house, but normal conversations should be fine. With respect to noise, one recent guest did not realize it, but “stomped” everywhere & slammed the bathroom & bedroom doors. I don’t think this person realized how much noise he was making, but my other Airbnb guest, my kids & I were all disturbed by this - & complained. So attention to being quiet is highly appreciated! Other things to note DEPARTURES: Remove any food you have in the guest refrigerator. I expect guests to depart by about 11:00 AM, so please let me know what time you are departing, especially if you’re thinking of a later time. I need time to re-prep the room, so generally 11:00 am departure works (a bit earlier is preferred). You can leave luggage downstairs & pick it up later if you are departing a bit later, but I need to be able to clean the room & bathroom, so an 11:00 am departure is about as late as I can handle & still prep the room. Please appraise me of your needs & timing, especially if it’s outside these parameters. CHECK-IN TIME: On weekdays -except Fridays - check-in time is 4:00 pm or after (because I'm working, too), unless you contact me in advance to work something out for an earlier arrival. On Fridays I have a class in the evening, so the best arrival time is between 4:00-5:30 pm. On weekends, check-in can be about 3:00 pm, but I may be able to/usually can accommodate earlier or later times. The important point is, I might be able to flex the check-in time but: Please discuss that with me & let me know what time you will arrive!
