Casa Milchi, a grand, charming and comfortable Indo-Portuguese house dating from the 1700's, is sited in the leafy village of Saligao, 3 kms (and, it seems, 50 yrs) away from the Arabian Sea Beaches of the tourist belt. Sensitively restored. AC in bedrooms. The space Well-equipped kitchen with microwave, gas double cooktop, water purifier, fridge-freezer, toaster, blender, rice cooker, and utensils. Gallery with sofas, recliners, formal dining table, Smart Flatscreen TV (you'll never use it!), speaker system. Library. Two bedrooms, one with double bed, fine linens, overhead punkah fan and AC and the second with king bed or two singles and fine linens with overhead punkah fan, stand fan and AC. Each bedroom with spacious bathrooms with shower etc. And the pride of the Casa.... an enormous verandah looking out over the garden, with charcoal Weber BBQ, overhead punkah fans and hammock chairs. A glorious space to relax or revel in the beauty of the Monsoon. Guest access All of house and garden bar one locked cupboard. Other things to note Many guests get to Casa Milchi and get no further, seduced by the veranda, peace and tranquility of the village, broken only by the Catholic neighbours saying the Rosary and the Hindu neighbours up at the hillside Temple chanting, in the evenings. It's particularly beautiful and tranquil during the monsoon. The lush garden adjoining the very large verandah hosts butterflies, birds and squirrels.
