Kensington is a friendly, picturesque neighbourhood. It’s quiet and it’s the only place I’ve ever lived, where I know all my neighbours. We are right in the heart of Melbourne so everyone works and there are lots of artists around, myself included. Beautiful courtyards at the front and back of the house; I’ve just been planting for Spring. Super comfy new mattress and your own kettle, toaster & blow dryer. Only 4kms from the CBD nothing is ever far away. With super fast wifi, DW & laundry 🥰 The space The bedding is very plush with new 1000 thread count bamboo cotton sheet set. The quilt set is 100% cotton and extra blankets, pillows and lots of fluffy towels are in the room for you. There’s also a lovely big armchair because it’s not always comfortable to sit on the bed but sometimes you want to be in your private space and just relax alone. I’ve also put a desk in the room. So often when travelling there is a need to spend a few hours on the laptop. I’m going out today to get a good ergonomic chair too. Bedside tables and lamps finish it off and the funky fairy lights add a bit of mood lighting. Guests have access to our super fast wifi. We have unlimited data so all are welcome to log on. Guest access The only parts of the house guests can’t access are the private family bedrooms. We want to be welcoming so the rest of the space is for sharing while guests are here. If you do cook for yourself we do expect you’ll tidy up afterwards. The dishwasher works a treat so it’s never too much of a task. During your stay I’m a musician and would love to host other artists. Ask about our special rates for musos. I spend too much time composing and recording and practicing and not enough time with other musos. I’m becoming a bit of a hermit. I have had a few musos stay before I listed and they were awesome and we learned so much from each other and shared bits of kit etc. I’m also happy to accomodate the odd hours I know musos often have to keep when they’re gigging. Other things to note It is a quiet neighbourhood so lots of loud noise late at night is out of the question. Inner city Melbs is so densely populated and here in Kensington people are great so we try to respect each other. Happy to oblige people arriving late after gigs but must be a quiet arrival especially while we are on the doorstep. Inside we have a bit of freedom. The place is double brick so there’s some noise insulation just not enough for late night jams I’m sad to say.
