If you want to venture further Hanmer Springs is approx 45 minutes. They have thermal hot pools or Kaikoura which has the whale watching, dolphin encounters and many more. Our wee family of 4 love the quiet and beautiful surroundings we have up here. The space Small yet spacious, modern and comfortable newly renovated self contained unit (an outbuilding to the house) with a bathroom and kitchenette with cooking facilities. Other things to note Free Wifi is available. There is an uphill gravel driveway approx 800metres long. It is suitable for a 2 wheel drive. Take your time and prepare yourself for the wonderful view! Grocery shops are in both Cheviot or Waiau, so would recommend to shop before you arrive. There is also a new world supermarket in Kaikoura if travelling from the north. Cheviot has several cafes open during the day and the Cheviot Trust Hotel has evening meals.
