I rent three of the four bedrooms in this home. I live here with my cat, Cracker Jack, and share the common spaces with my guests. There are two living and eating areas, as well as outdoor space with seating and dining; this early 1900s home has plenty of charm and space for a night, weekend or extended vacation. This will always be my home, and I want to give others an opportunity to enjoy the house and the area as much as I do. The original hardwood floors and finishes, the size and layout, and even the quirks and kinks make this house feel like home to all who step inside. The rooms are accommodating for nightly travelers or extended vacations. It's a large, inviting home with multiple seating areas inside and out. I live here and rent the three extra bedrooms; all the bedrooms, including mine, are located on the second floor. There is a large foyer with seating, a living room, dining room, kitchen and two bathrooms; all shared. Each room has a queen sized bed and one room has an additional twin bed. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub/shower and the downstairs bathroom has a shower. Additionally, there is a large yard and decking with seating to accommodate numerous people. While I have previously rented the entire home before I moved back in, I am now renting the three extra bedrooms for travelers who want to directly interact with the local community and me. The most important thing about this place is the community. It's a quiet neighborhood with great neighbors and cows right beyond the backyard fence. This charming house, the local culture and surrounding mountains are one of a kind. Sharing the house with other travelers offers a unique experience you wouldn't get in a hotel or condominium. My home is near the birthplace of Pearl S. Buck, directly off Route 219; the main road in Pocahontas County. The area lacks public transportation, but this house provides easy travel access to everything the county has to offer. Due to renting multiple rooms, it's important to note that guests may encounter other travelers. This area has a strong sense of community and this house will reflect that within. I keep the house clean and orderly. If you're looking for a private getaway, this house may not be for you.
