The Stables

The 'Stables' The Stables is an iconic and unique place to stay in Nelson. Renovated in the early 2000's, this stone lodging is almost 150 years old. Guest access is limit to the group floor only. The space The Stables is appointed with everything you need to enjoy while visiting. There are 2 bedrooms, both with queen size beds. A bathroom with shower, bath and vanity. A seperate toilet with basin. Laundry area with washing machine, dryer and sink. A fully equiped kitchen, with plenty of room to cook, and a large dining table, which can seat 8 people. Finally, the is a combustion wood heater which will heat the entire house - despite it's unassuming size. Guest access Parking for 2 vehicles is available onsite, and should you require more, then the visitor information centre directly across the road will cater for many more. The Stables provides a fully functional Laundry with washing machine, dryer, indoor and outdoor clothes hangers. Within the private courtyard is a BBQ and outdoor setting allowing for outdoor cooking and dinning. The boundaries of the Stables are fenced, so bring you beloved fury friend for a vacation too. Other things to note Explore the Glenelg River by canoe or boat, the Princess Margaret Rose Caves, Discovery Bay Coastal Park, the historical South Australian town of Port MacDonnell or shop at the large regional city of Mount Gambier in South Australia. There are also many walking and hiking tracks starting from the front of the Stables.
