Our lovingly restored beach house offers stylish yet relaxed coastal living. It has six bedrooms, extended living areas, a large pool, five wonderful staff to attend to your every need and the beach at the end of the garden. The space One of the original grande dames of the South Coast, Thalpe House has been lovingly restored to offer a contemporary home away from home for our young family and friends. Furnished throughout with a blend of antiques and modern art and furniture sourced from across Asia, the house is designed to offer stylish yet relaxed beach living. The property consists of three double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, all with spacious en-suite bathrooms, elegant four-poster beds and either pool or panoramic ocean views. In the family wing there is a further double bedroom, a children’s bedroom with two double bunk beds, and a large shared family bathroom featuring a freestanding bath. All bedrooms have A/C and overhead fans. There is wifi throughout the house. The downstairs living area opens on to the tropical garden to make the most of the spectacular ocean views and warm Sri Lankan climate, while the expansive upstairs sitting and games area is the perfect place to retreat and watch a movie, play cards or immerse yourself in a great book. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house. Thalpe House is a fully staffed home comprising of a house manager, accomplished chef and three additional houseboys to attend to your every need. Thalpe House’s resident chef, Isuru, is on hand to cook all of your meals. An amazing cook, his repertoire includes everything from delicious Sri Lankan curries to an extensive selection of pan-Asian and Western recipes. Manoj, the House Manager, buys all ingredients fresh from the local markets on a daily basis and all meals are served family style.* With the comfort and safety of our own family in mind, the house has been carefully designed and equipped for those travelling with young children. Other things to note We pride ourselves in producing some of the best food on the South Coast. Isuru, our chef, is an accomplished chef and will excel in producing freshly made local curries, pan-Asian cuisine and excellent sea food. He has had plenty of practice making food for our children and will cater for even the fussiest of eaters. Discuss with the team what you would like to eat at the start of the day and they will purchase fresh from the market and prepare for you. All food and drinks are charged separately at cost price. We are not licensed to sell alcohol.
