The Betty Jo - Historic Garden Guest House
Welcome to The Betty Jo! Tucked away on a quiet street in the Ridge Avenue Historic District, this light and spacious cottage is refreshed and ready for guests. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and centrally located a short walk from the historic downtown and river greenbelt, The Betty Jo is a peaceful retreat close to the action. The space The house is a classic 1938 Cape Cod with fresh finishes, updated systems, and an authentic vintage vibe. Encircled by cottage gardens and lovely old trees, The Betty Jo has been described as "a hug for the soul." Inside find comfortable beds and furnishings, pleasant spaces to work remotely, a fully appointed kitchen, lots of natural light with beautiful garden views, classic vintage tiled bath (swoon!), laundry facilities, Wifi, high-speed internet and Smart TV with Netflix. Kick back with a book, play games or spin some vinyl on the old Magnavox. Sip your morning coffee and wake up with the gardens. Nap in a hammock, fire up the grill, wine and dine out back under a canopy of trees. Whether you day trip to the mountains, or enjoy the action in town, you can always retreat for respite and your own gourmet cooking. Work-cation staycation or vacation, at The Betty Jo you can have it all! Guest access The main floor is all yours, as are the yard and gardens, though we access the yard for maintenance and watering. You are also welcome to use the fully-stocked laundry in the basement. The rest of the basement isn't guest space, just utilities and storage. Other things to note The Betty Jo does not have air conditioning, which is not uncommon for homes in our region. This is a dry climate and the house is surrounded by large shade trees. An eco-friendly German cooling system takes advantage of our cool nights. The house stays comfortable, but not refrigerated.
