Description
Top floor apartment with a view to the mountains from every window. Close to everything and heaps of room to breathe. 2 generously sized bedrooms, each with it’s own private balcony and private bathroom / en-suite. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry, swimming pool in the complex and beautiful mountain views from every window. The space “Paradise Park” is in the suburb of Parramatta Park, situated on the fringe of Cairns City. It’s close to everything you need and is generously proportioned, so you’ll have heaps of room to breathe. The building is a residential building, not a tourist hub, so you’ll have a chance to experience how life is for people who call Cairns home, not just a holiday spot. Within 5 minutes walk you have all the basics; an amazing sushi place, Cafe China, some pretty great coffee, 24 hour Coles express, a great massage parlour, the Cairns Showgrounds, secluded walking paths/bike tracks that go through rainforest reserve. Within 10 minutes walk, you have access to Cairns Central, with all the major shops and specialty stores, 2 supermarkets, a cinema, lots of eating options. It’s a 20 minute walk to the Cairns Esplanade, which is the heart of waterfront living in Cairns. This is where you’ll find the night markets, amazing local restaurants, bars and clubs, the Cairns lagoon, my favourite ice creamery and beautifully landscaped walking / cycle paths along the waterfront. It’s always full of energy, and is one of the most beautiful places to visit at sunset. On your way to the esplanade, you'll cross the beautiful Lilly Creek, discover the Cairns Aquarium, Munro Martin Parklands, Cairns Performing Arts Centre (amazing big name performers perform here), and the indigenous art gallery and performance space, “Bulmba-ja”. Access to the Great Barrier Reef couldn’t be easier - it’s less than 5 minutes in an Uber to the reef fleet terminal on the Esplanade. This is the departure point for all the boats visiting the Great Barrier Reef. Guest access “Paradise Park” is a two bedroom unit in a residential complex. The complex has a pool on the ground level which you are free to use, and all other amenities are contained in the apartment. This includes a full size laundry and well equipped kitchen and BBQ cooking facilities - you’re free to use these anytime you need. The apartment faces north westerly and is situated with a corner aspect. The master bedroom faces to the west. You will enjoy views out to the Macalister Range and Mount Whitfield from your private balcony - these are part of the world heritage rainforest area. The second bedroom faces to the east. You’ll enjoy views to the Yarrabah mountain range from your private balcony. This is sacred indigenous land, and home to a large indigenous community. You can watch the sun rise in a spectacular manner as it inches it’s way over the mountains. From here you can also see the treetops of all the trees in Cairns City, and the tops of most major buildings too. Both bedrooms feature very comfortable premium mattresses. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen sized bed. Both beds are super-comfortable, with latex topped mattresses. All bedding and towels are provided. Each room has it’s own air conditioner and fan, so you can get comfortable during your stay. The glass doors slide all the way open on your balcony to let in fresh air too, if that’s more your style. The living space is very open and separates the bedrooms from each other, providing privacy so it’s perfect for couples choosing to travel together. There’s a open plan kitchen, living and dining space with large glass doors that open onto the entertainer’s balcony. The outdoors is invited in, with lots of breeze and the sounds of birds singing. Established plants all through the house add to the feeling of welcoming the outdoors in. The warm weather all year around in Cairns means that the borders between the outdoors and indoors can be somewhat blurred. You’ll be able to sit at the dining table on the balcony and enjoy a cool beverage while you watch the sun gently dip behind the Macalister mountain range, which separates Cairns from the Atherton Tablelands. Watch the native birds frolic in the evening sunlight, as they roost for the evening, then the sky will fill with majestic native fruit bats, out for their evening meal. In my opinion, “Paradise Park” has the best seats in Cairns for the sunset! Other things to note We are the top floor apartment (2nd floor). There unfortunately is not an elevator in the complex, though it is just 2 short flights of stairs.
