The shopping area, boulevard, and main promenade of Altea are about a 10-minute walk away, with local restaurants, cafes, bars, and boutique shops. A summer beach bar, the chiringuito "Bon Vida," is only a 2-minute walk away or 50 meters away. The historic old town of Altea can be reached within about 20 minutes on foot and is known for its cobblestoned alleys, white houses with bougainvillea, artisan shops, restaurants, cafes, and the Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Consuelo beside the church with its picturesque blue towers and stunning views over Altea and the coastline. Near the building, the small river Rio Algar offers beautiful walking routes and well-marked hiking trails leading toward the boulevard, the old town, waterfalls, and mountain views. The weekly market takes place on Tuesdays, and there is also a local fruit and vegetable market in the town center. Guests can get around easily on foot, by taxi, by rental bicycle, or by the accessible train and bus system connecting Altea with nearby towns such as Albir, Benidorm, Valencia, and Alicante. Water shoes are recommended for the pebble beaches in Altea. There is reception on arrival and contact before departure, and during the stay guests have access to a permanent contact person who speaks English, Spanish, and Dutch.
