Experience traditional medina life in this 500-year-old Fassi townhouse where life slows to medieval pace. Indulge in a long, leisurely breakfast (included) on the roof terrace; retreat to the interior balcony for an afternoon G&T; savour authentic home cooking with Moroccan wines in the evening. Our house is a laid back home-from-home and we’ve thought of everything so you don’t have to. The space Ideal for guests who love to cook, the house offers: - a large, open-plan kitchen and courtyard dining room - daily housekeeping - two elegant ensuite bedrooms (double beds) decorated with hand woven Moroccan textiles and basic toiletries. Hammam/pool towels are also provided for days out. - a lounge where you'll find plenty of magazines and books to browse, as well as an honesty bar stocked with Moroccan wines (please leave the correct money in the jar provided) - TV room / office with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. - reading balcony perfect for afternoon tea, or a cheeky G&T - breakfast room and rooftop terrace with dining area - fans and radiators are provided in all the bedrooms (we do not have air conditioning, or central heating) ACTIVITIES - half day Moroccan home cooking classes cost 500 dirhams per person. - half day Traditional Foods of the Fez Medina tours cost (350 dirhams per person, min 2 pax, includes 9 tastings). - half day tours of the Fez Medina (500 dirhams) - day trips: roman ruins of Volubilis; goats cheese farm breakfast; wine tasting in Meknes; hiking on Mount Zalagh and packed lunch (prices on enquiry) A true home from home this is a place to relax and recharge with all the Fes Medina has to offer on your doorstep. Guest access A gated, private derb (narrow lane typical to the medina) makes this house particularly secure. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor. Other things to note BREAKFAST Available from 9am-12 noon / Please agree what time you want it with Rachida in advance. Seasonal fruit salads, yogurt, local goats cheese, olives, bread, Moroccan pastries, eggs, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee. DINNERS A three-course, traditional Moroccan dinner cost 250 dirhams per person. LATE / EARLY CHECK INS For arrivals between 9pm and 9am, and for departures after 12noon, a surcharge of 200 dirhams / 20 euros will apply. It is payable in cash directly to Rachida when you check-in / check-out. A CAT LIVES ON THE PREMISES Rachida will come in twice a day to feed her. STAIRS ARE STEEP The house is not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility.
