We have two beautiful “Pioneer-style” cottages nestled in amongst the stunning Waitomo landscape. Enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the central North Island and mountains in our two self-contained, pioneer-style cottages (sleep 4 persons). - Cottage set-up to sleep 4 people - 2 Adults and 2 children - 2 Couple (Cozy) The price is for a up to 4 guests. Our place is great for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). We are a 15-20 minute drive past the Waitomo Village so it pays to eat before you come up or bring supplies with you. There is a two element cook top and a microwave. The cottage is one room with a queen bed down and a small loft above that has two single mattresses in it. Cosy but cute. Each cottage has its own bathroom about 8 steps from the cottage. We would love you to come and share our little piece of paradise. The accommodation is nestled within a bush setting on top of a hill where you can see out over the whole central north Island. You even have your own grotto only meters from your door where you can sit quietly surrounded by a galaxy of Glow-worms. Enjoy the starry nights and peace and quiet of the country. You are more them welcome to wander around the farmland and enjoy the fantastic views, check out the Dab Chick Pond and beautiful native bush. Amazing views/Glowworms/Native bush/Caves/Black Water Rafting. If we are not going to be home there is still family around to help out if needed. Check in is from 3pm/ check out at 10am. Guest access You are more them welcome to wonder around the farmland and enjoy the fantatsic views, check out the Dab Chick Pond and beautiful native bush. Other things to note We are a 15/20min drive past the Waitomo Village. You need to drive through the village and at the roundabout drive straight up the hill, Te Anga Road for 9.7ks. We are on the right hand side of the road. You then need to follow the arrows up the steep hill until you get to the Te Tiro Carpark sign. Look for the note on the gate. Please remember to have dinner before you come up or bring dinner supplies with you. Other things to note - Pre-booking Cave Tours: We strongly recommend booking your Waitomo Cave tours in advance, especially during peak seasons. Popular tours often fill up quickly! - Tour Recommendations: As former cave guides with 30+ years of experience, we'd be happy to help you choose the best cave tours for your interests and fitness level. Feel free to ask us before or after booking your stay. - Local Attractions: Besides the caves, there are many other attractions in the area. We can provide information on short walks, waterfalls, and other local sights. - Weather: Waitomo's weather can be changeable. Pack layers and rain gear to ensure you're comfortable for both indoor and outdoor activities. - Dining Options: Waitomo Village is about 13 minutes drive away. We recommend dining there or bringing supplies, as dining options near the cottage are limited. - Stargazing: On clear nights, the stargazing here is incredible. We can provide tips on the best spots and times for this activity. - Conservation: Our farm is part of a QEII reserve. We ask guests to respect the natural environment and wildlife during their stay. - Connectivity: We have good cell phone coverage at the accommodation, so you can stay connected during your stay.
