We have closed our Airbnb for regular vacation rentals, but may do a few holidays here & there, so you are welcome to check back for availability! Lakefront cottage w/ 2 open docks, HUGE screened porch overlooking lake. Fish, swim, kayak off our 2 docks! Sleeps Max 6. Kitchen, w/d, 2 kayaks. Grill, charcoal, fire pit & firewood. Guest Requirements: *1 positive review required for booking. No Pets. The space Living room & bedroom have large smart TV’s with over 120 free channels! Fiber wifi. The beautiful outdoor screened in porch & downstairs porch are perfect for lounging & have that old time lake-house feel. The cottage is a quaint vacation home with modern amenities but charm from the past. The 2nd house built on the lake, it has an old time lake cottage feel with comforts of today. Original wood floors in both bedrooms & 2nd story screened in porch that covers the entirety of the back of the home overlooking the lake. The screened in porch is the gem, according to our guests! Screened in porch is furnished with outdoor furniture, large fan to enjoy your coffee in the morning or evening relaxation gazing at the gorgeous view. Full kitchen with many amenities. Relax on the screened in porch, or a chaise lounge on the dock--all why enjoying the waterfront view. 2 Docks: 1 deep enough to tie your boat to, has ladder to jump in & swim in the private cove, or 2nd dock to relax in the chaise lounges. Boat ramps are less than 3 miles away. MAXIMUM 6 guests including infants & children. Sorry—NO parties, events or group gathering outside the maximum 6 guests are permitted. This is quiet neighborhood. PACKING LIST QUESTIONS? Look here: We have stayed ourselves in several Airbnb's & have noted the degree we supply our guests--cannot be found in any Airbnb & we're quite proud of that. If you are experienced Airbnb'ers, it's likely you will be shocked at how much we provide. If you are new, you will likely be shocked at your next Airbnb how much we did provide! We stock the cottage with complete sets of sheets, blankets, toiletries, towels, dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, blender, toaster, can opener, microwave, mixing bowls, aluminum foil, trash bags, zip locks, paper towels, coffee maker, coffee, multiple creamers & sweeteners, cereal, pancake mix, a few condiments, milk, farm eggs, bread & bacon! Just bring yourself & your clothes! We also provide kayaks, life jackets, games, floats, beach towels, sunscreen, laundry detergent, first aid kit, fishing poles & gear, charcoal grill with charcoal & lighter What!? Yep. That's a lot of extras we spoil you with! No Pet Propery If you are looking for a quaint, unique lake house experience, you will not find a better value than ours. Our house has modern amenities and many extra touches, but is over 60 years old, so expect to find it greatly cared for but does show its age in some places. Almost every guest in 8 years has rated our interior very clean. The outdoor spaces are swept often, but as it is a lake house, the outdoor spaces are shared with nature & subject to cobwebs and insect on porches that want to come back as soon as we shew them away. Expect to find a very clean interior with loving wear, quaint aging and charming patina both inside and outside. Our guest's reviews speak best to how many have loved our home. We have many, many returning guests. We generally stay fully booked from March through October, so book early! Guest access You & your guests have the entire cottage home minus a storage basement & 2nd garage under construction. 2 bedrooms, living has 2 couches-one with queen pull out. Living room has 55” smart tv & master bedroom has 50” smart tv. There is a one car garage for guests. You have 2 docks, 1 suitable for a boat to be tied to & a ladder for swimming access ease into the private cove. Relax on the chaise lounges on the 2nd dock or swing the lazy day away in the lakeside hammock. We are just 2 miles off of the interstate and one of the closest vacation homes to get to with ease! No driving miles & miles to get to your vacation. The cottage is located on two lots-rare space at the lake to spread out. We are located in a quiet area with lake life retirees but lots of privacy. Other things to note Please read listing in entirety to see if it is a good fit. This is a no pet, quiet property. At least 1 positive review is required to book. MAX GUEST 6 GUESTS including children. Please book the accurate number of guests. Only booked guests allowed on property. No reunions, parties, gatherings of any kind. 2 car, 1 boat max. Do not park on grass. Not suitable for crawling thru 2 years old due to the 2nd story screened in porch. Booking is a contract that you will not infringe on rules. Violation will result in a $100 per guest per night fee, negative review & reporting to Airbnb.. Please do not try to sneak unregistered guests in our home-it accommodates SIX only. Thank you for understanding our policy. CHECK IN/OUT: Check in is strictly enforced of 3pm because we must clean the lake house in the hours of 11am to 3pm. Early check in is usually not available due to our work schedules & those are the ONLY hours that we can do maintenance on our home. Please plan accordingly to arrive no earlier than 3p-the house will not be available prior nor will there be space to place vehicles or items on the wet floors. Thank you for understanding. Check-out: Check out procedures are listed in the house. Guests should leave the cottage as they found it other than dirty linen left for us to wash & deep cleaning we provide after check-out to make our valued guests a clean welcoming experience. This means emptying all trash, sweeping floors with any gross amounts of residue made, & starting the dishwasher. An inventory list is present for both host and guests to ensure towels, pillows, etc. stay at the lake house where they live. (We will be happy to tell you where we purchased our things if you love them!) We are grateful for the care our guests take. For those rare occasions where no respect is shown & our home is left in poor condition, feedback will be left & damages will be reported. In a nutshell, we don’t expect you to deep clean, just leave it as you would want to find it & most do. :) We love to pamper our guests & it must show because we are continually rated as SUPER HOSTS! We have been amazed at the wonderful people who have stayed at our vacation home and the relationships we have built with those who interacted with us. We also respect your privacy and once you let us know you arrived safely; we will give you as much privacy as you desire. We love to travel & are dedicated to making your stay everything we would want on our getaways. Why stay at a hotel when you can have a lake front home for your entire family at the same cost? Southern Illinois is beautiful and Lake of Egypt was named for its beauty reminiscent of Egypt!
