You have the small lovely en-suite guest bedroom, with own courtyard entrance & parking. Snooze on garden sofa and listen to the waves of Muizenberg beach 1.5km away. Activities: kayaking straight from the jetty, yoga mats, birdwatching, surfing, many cafes & restaurants closeby. Superhost with 5* reviews. The space Your bedroom is very quiet and super comfortable, suitable for maximum 2 adults sharing the queen-size bed (sorry no space for children or cots). Everyone says they sleep deeply here because the bed is so comfy and it's so quiet and calm. There is an en-suite shower bathroom, with shower gel and hand soap, beach and bath towels. Plus a hairdryer, fibre WiFi, Nespresso machine and a comprehensive information folder (written by yours truly, professional travel writer Carrie Hampton). Sliding doors lead to a charming Afro/Maroc courtyard with café-style table & chairs and water feature. You have use of the house all day, which is so open plan that there is a seamless flow between the inside and outside. Get in the holiday mood on the outdoor seating and hammock and become mesmerised by the incredible views of the lagoon and mountains and birdlife. The views are exceptional. The lawn goes right down to the jetty on the water's edge and you can jump into a kayak any time. Explore the water channels weaving through this whitewashed residential area on the Zandvlei estuary. I have a little black poodle who would love you to play with him. I will consider one well-behaved guest dog if you can assure good behaviour. You have use of the kitchen for breakfast and lunch but not in the evenings. There are so many cafes and restaurants around here, even within a few minutes walk that you'll never get through them all. There's a laundry service just around the corner. You have secure garage parking inside the property. The area is completely safe; you can walk around this neighbourhood even at night e.g. to the local restaurant and general store 1-minute walk. And there's a lovely walk from the house to nearby Park Island Nature Reserve or through the suburb right down to Muizenberg beach - the best learn-to-surf beach in Cape Town. Guest access You'll have your own set of keys with a remote for the automatic garage door. You can enter your bedroom directly from the entrance courtyard. During your stay As guests in my home where I live and work, I seek peace-loving guests and will make you very welcome. It's entirely up to you how much you want to interact - most of my guests share a glass of excellent South African wine with me on the terrace at some point. As a professional travel writer I can give you the benefit of my local knowledge and recommend where to go. I have hiked in the nearby mountains with many of my guests. You have discreet use of the house; this means use of the lounge and kitchen for breakfast and lunch but not for cooking evening meals (except by arrangement). There are many fantastic restaurants in the nearby villages along the coastline and I'll help you choose and book a table. You have full use of the waterside garden with outdoor seating and kayaks and the courtyard outside your bedroom. There is a private entry straight into your room from the entrance courtyard. I'm blessed to have hosted such incredible people and if you like the look of Waterside Cottage, you must be a pretty special person too and I look forward to meeting you, Prefer non-smokers, but if you must it's only allowed on the jetty or in the courtyard. Other things to note Free Wifi. Very secure area. The kitchen is for your use at breakfast and lunch only - not evenings. There are cafes, restaurants and takeaways within within walking distance. Please note, single male travellers are not accepted. This my home, so please notify me of the name and ID number of the second guest when booking for two people. To ensure this remains a safe space, if you book for one person only, no other guests may stay overnight or visit.
