Padma Kidul Guesthouse
Padma Kidul Guesthouse
Description
OPAK (Omah Padma Kidul Guest House) is a retreat from the sights and sounds of crowded Java and busy Yogyakarta. Spend your days and nights listening to the sound of the Indian Ocean as the sea breeze blows through the trees. Just an hours drive from the city of Yogyakarta and a 20 minute walk to Parangtritis beach. The perfect place to stroll on the black sand, walk along forested lanes and splendid rice fields, and explore the small coastal Indonesian tourist town of Parangtritis. The space Rustic teak wood house near to the ocean: perfect for individual, couple, family or group. Enjoy the quiet solitude in this spacious one bedroom traditional house that gets plenty of natural light all day long. Make sure to ask how to open up the teak wood panels to let the light in and have the beautiful greenery on view whilst you sit inside out of the hot sun. Or you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the view, relax in the hammock with a good book, play cards or work on puzzle (games available for your use). A local woman is available to prepare Indonesian style food or help with the shopping on your request (with advance notice). Please understand this is a rural town with no supermarket near by and few people who speak English. Your hosts are happy to assist you with organizing meals or suggesting local restaurants nearby. Guest access Close by there is an ancient Hindu temple with ocean views, a sacred water spring where locals come for meditation and prayer, and a high end cliff side hotel with an infinity pool open to the public for a swim or a meal in their open air restaurant. Other things to note This is a simple wooden house in the forest with basic amenities. There are 2 friendly dogs living on the property. The house is located not far from the main road that leads from the city of Yogyakarta down to coastal town of Parangtritis. It’s a 20 minute walk from town up the hill to the house and less than 5 minutes by car. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellant as needed. The private road leading down to the car parking is steep and can be slippery during the rainy season. If you are uncomfortable with this, we can suggest additional parking nearby and a short walk to the house. Motorcycle access is via a separate pathway that leads to safe and covered parking.
