Hawkswood Cottage-Claverley/Cheviot

Relax with coffee on the deck of this delightful, rustic bach, located on a private stunning beach. You are likely to spot seals or dolphins on their travels. There is always plenty to see and do. Fishing, cricket, reading, puzzles, etc. For shops head 40 minutes North to Kaikoura or 30 minutes south to Cheviot for spectacular wines and art filled cafes. Please note: do not swim at the beach -the lagoon is best for summer swimming, located south of the cottage. (No pets). The space If you have toddlers, please note: The sea is out the front of the cottage, and there is no fencing around the property. Also no laundry room. Small beach bonfires are permitted away from tussock only in low fire risk seasons and best on a calm evening. Not in summer sorry. A bach is a term for a New Zealand holiday home. It is not a fancy hotel. It is an isolated place of beauty where simplicity is part of the charm. Furniture is clean but not brand new. Perfection is not the goal. Staying at a bach is an opportunity to enjoy peace, family and the outdoors. No pets. Guest access The whole cottage and beach is for guests. With plenty of parking at the cottage. Other things to note Do not approach seals. Please bring all linen, towels and tea towels. Please clean cottage on last day (this won’t take long).
