Description

This is the perfect get away place for all creative people: artists, writers, poets... In the heart of the farm land, 12 miles east of Kincardine, stands Gino Cavicchioli's studio, the old Kinloss United Church, circa 1874. Open concept with a loft, sleeps max 4, min 13 nights stay from April to Dec. Min 1 month stay from Jan to the end of March. The space This studio / house was the old Kinloss United Church. We carefully preserved the country church look on the outside during the renovation, while the interior was transformed into a sculptor studio with high vaulted ceiling and a comfortable sleeping quarter on the loft. There is one double bed on the loft, one couch that can be used as a double bed on the main floor. Sleeps max. 4 (2 couples). The studio was uniquely decorated with the owner, artist Gino Cavicchioli's sculpture works, including a 10' x 6' casting of the relief of philanthropists Mr & Mrs Juravinski. For the music lovers, we have an upright piano waiting for your creative touch. Gino Cavicchioli is a Renaissance man. His works are in the collections of some of the most powerful figures of his generation such as George Bush, Margaret Thatcher and Mikhail Gorbachev. Guest access The guest has access to the entire studio, the driveway and 1 acre lot. Other things to note You can find all you need for groceries in Sobeys Kincardine. LCBO is close to Sobeys with a good supply of wines and spirits. Driving south on Bruce Rd. 1 to Kinlough, you can get the best ice cream at Lucy's General store! Their portion is very generous. And you can find almost anything you need in the house there too. There is also a Mennonite produce store half way between the studio & the General store. We highly recommend you to stop by the Mennonite vegetable stand in the village of Bervie on the way to Kincardine. Their produce is fresh and tasty. You can also inquire about horse buggy ride to see the country side while you are there. We don't have cable, but we do provide a LCD TV, a DVD player, and a ROKU3 streaming device for your entertainment needs.
