Especially the points under “Other details to note.” This is rural Bali, where nature and all its creatures are alive all around you. There are two buildings on the property. While identical, the difference is that the one you are looking at has an open living room, while the other barn has an enclosed living room with foldable glass doors. ---------------------------------------------- Wake up in the cozy queen bed on the upper floor to the sounds of roosters and the gentle melodies of prayer drifting from the village temple. Open the balcony doors to take in views of lush fields, a flowing creek, and the green expanse of Sidemen Valley. Thanks to the high grass roof of this traditional Lumbung barn and the natural breeze, there’s little need for air conditioning. Lounge in the open-air living room below, or cool off with a refreshing dip in the shared infinity pool while soaking up views of Mount Agung and the surrounding fields. When you’re ready for a change of pace, explore the peaceful valley, meet friendly locals, or wander through rice fields and nearby villages on foot or by scooter. Even the modern bathroom beside the living room has been carefully designed to blend into the rustic charm of the barn, offering all the comforts you need without breaking the atmosphere. As evening falls, copper garden lights cast a warm glow, and the night fills with the sounds of frogs, crickets, and the soft rush of water. Village lights twinkle across the valley—and if you’re lucky, fireflies might drift through the garden under the moonlight. Who needs a TV? WILDLIFE & PETS Villa Uma Dewi Sri is nestled in the heart of nature. While I maintain high standards of cleanliness, we’re surrounded by lush greenery and life - so you will encounter insects, bees, frogs, geckos, or other small creatures in and around the house. For many, this close connection to nature is part of the charm and beauty of staying here. But I understand it’s not for everyone. If you’re unsure about being this close to Bali’s natural world, my home might not be the right fit - and that’s perfectly okay. I want you to feel completely comfortable and relaxed during your stay, so please keep this in mind before booking. Additionally, my rescue dogs, Bobo and Foxy, are permanent residents and roam freely on the property. WIFI Though free, internet access can be unreliable in this rural area. Be ready for occasional offline moments. LOCATION Villa Uma Dewi Sri is about a 20–30 minute walk from the main Sidemen’s village. Scooters are the best way to explore, and I can assist with rentals. SHARED SPACES The infinity pool and garden are shared with guests in the second barn. SERVICES Villa Uma Dewi Sri is not a hotel; it’s a home. The staff is available during the day for cleaning, meals, and assistance. Breakfast is included, and other meals can be ordered from our menu. The kitchen closes at 7:30 pm. During the night, at least one of our staff will be on the property in case of an emergency. LOCAL LIFE Villa Uma Dewi Sri offers a peaceful sense of privacy, but as the main trekking path runs just in front of the property, local farmers and villagers may occasionally pass by and glimpse into the open living room or shared spaces. It’s all part of the gentle rhythm of village life that makes Sidemen so special. SUNLIT BEDROOM The bedroom features large windows with stunning views. The curtains don’t block all sunlight, sleeping masks are provided for your comfort. GUEST REGISTRATION In accordance with Indonesian immigration law, we are required to register every guest and submit their personal data - including a passport scan - to the immigration authorities using a dedicated government app. To make this process easier, we offer an optional online check-in before arrival. However, even if you check in online, we are still required to scan your passport with the official immigration app when you arrive.
