Pierrepoint offers accommodation in 2 delightful north facing rooms (Chardonnay Suite & Pinot Suite)-with reverse cycle air conditioning-overlooking an extensive garden and 16 acre vineyard.Cellar door situated in an original farm shed-local produce & wines-in beautiful Western District of Vic, an hour from the Great Ocean Rd & the heart of the Grampians National Park. In the 3rd largest volcanic plain in the World;adventures & much sight seeing is on offer. The space The rear of the Edwardian homestead is available and very private; each room having a reverse cycle airconditioner. It has direct access to the car park and offers accommodation for 4 people if both rooms are taken. The Chardonnay Suite, taken by itself, offers a private ensuite, an eating area and a bedroom with one queen bed. It has a television and access to free wifi via the NBN! Basic kitchen facilities are also available (small microwave, good size new fridge, jug, toaster). If both rooms are taken, the area is very suitable for a family of 4 or 2 couples interested in a farm stay type short stay. The property consists of 100 acres; 16 acres of vines and the remainder is grazed by sheep. A majestic lake used for irrigation exists along the creek and koalas often roam through the manna gums. The cellar door has been placed in the end of one of the original farm sheds and was part of the Winery. It is open most days & offers home made cakes, "Roxborough” locally roasted espresso coffee, "Tea Blossom" Teas, local "Simply Tea" teas and numerous local produce including a range of local wines. Pierrepoint Cellar Door has a north easterly aspect capturing the sunshine and overlooking the numerous breeds of poultry wandering amongst the vines. Picnics can be ordered in advance and either enjoyed anywhere on the property. To the south of the homestead, Mt Napier appears on the horizon beyond the Muddy Creek valley and productive farming land. The Tarrington area is a picturesque, undulating landscape. The township named as Hochkirch by its German founders in 1853, changed its name to Tarrington in 1916 due to world events at the time. It has maintained a strong and proud German heritage. Guest access Besides their room/s, guests are welcome to wander around the garden, farm and vineyard including the cellar door. Other things to note The Southern Grampians region is a well kept secret full of delightful experiences!
