.Ranch style home. Two bedrooms with a connecting "Jack and Jill" bathroom. BEDROOMS ARE LISTED SEPARATELY. Each room has a private bathroom and sink .The updated shower is between with doors that lock for privacy. We are situated on nine acres with woods and a creek. I also live in the house with my one sweet dog and 2 cats. The cats are inside but don't go into the bedrooms. If you are allergic to animals you might want to consider other lodgings. . A modest yet safe barn is located on the property if you are traveling with your horses. Stabling is available for $30.00 per night per horse. Arena and turn-out is available. South Mountain State Park is 30 minutes away for riding or hiking. Moses Cone Park is an easy 45 minutes drive up highway 321. Kitchen, Living room, laundry room, large patio with a fire ring, pastures, woods and creek. Kitchen can be used. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and providing their own supplies. Condiments and spices are available as well as basic kitchen/cooking supplies. Long term guests that use consumables like coffee, sugar, milk need to provide for theses items themselves. The laundry room is available for long-term guests. I do ask that if you are coming in from a long trip and have loads of laundry that you use our local laundromat to save on my well and septic field. Use the dryer to just dry, no long "wrinkle free" cycles that go on forever. We have a great clothes line too! Detergent is not supplied. Please leave dirty boots and shoes at the door, all others are welcome. My dog Wiley has learned to beg from pervious guests. Please help me break him of this habit no matter how he begs. He also likes to counter surf or push his nose into the pantry to steal food. He has a great space in the sunroom, please do not bring him into the house. I supervise him careful when I am home. I will be available to get guests settled in, but will not hover. Our home is a short drive to local grocery stores and a few places to eat. Nice dining and entertainment can be found in downtown Hickory, a 10 minute drive away. We are in the country and it does get very dark at night. Nice for star gazing. I am a full time teacher and gone from 7:00 till 4:30. I work on the property afternoons and on weekends. I use my tractor, chainsaw and weed eater to keep the property in shape. I will not do this early in the morning and will try to accommodate when possible. I usually clean during the weekends. I have two small grandchildren that usually stay over night with me on Saturdays. We watch something in my room or are outside during the day. I have 3 indoor/outdoor cats and a large longhaired dog. If you are allergic to animals this is not the listing for you. They love having guests and may try to sneak into your rooms. Please no people food, they are becoming beggars.
