Welcome to your room in the clouds. Completely private and so utterly peaceful, the entire top floor of our home is yours, containing one of the most tranquil and magnificent views in the Dandenong Ranges. Indulge in your huge master bedroom with King bed, private dining and deck, walk in robe and luxury ensuite. Architecturally designed to capture the light and mountain views, but so close to all major townships and attractions, it's the perfect space to watch the world go by. The space On the doorstep of the gorgeous township of Kallista, your totally private suite with its awe inspiring aspect will put you instantly at one with nature. Kick back on your dreamy king sized bed, eye level with the incredible trees and mountains that make the Dandenong Ranges so beloved. It's your view for the entirety of your stay, and every minute brings something new to look at... In summer, watch as the beautiful parrots, cockatoos and kookaburras fly past as you bask in the afternoon light on your own private deck, wine in hand. On a wintery day, enjoy your choice of organic tea or coffee and soak up the serenity from your cosy breakfast nook (or bed...) and watch as the clouds gently lap at your windows. As well as the king bed, the room also offers a single sized trundle bed (with mattress topper for ultimate comfort) to allow 3 guests to stay. Perfect for a girls weekend away or parents traveling with an older child. ENTERTAINMENT For a break from the outside world, magazines, books and boardgames are all provided, along with your own bluetooth sound system. A television is not a necessity when the views are this good, however a smart TV is naturally included for those who want to indulge in some Netflix and Stan, SBS On Demand, iview etc. In room yoga is our latest addition, with your own private instructor Shiri. A favourite teacher of locals in the Dandenong Ranges, Shiri comes to the comfort of your room and leads an incredibly restorative yoga and meditation practise, perfectly tailored for couples or a girls weekend away. Fee is $65/head. Simply let us know if you'd like to arrange this for your time with us and we will coordinate. FOOD Our Seasonal Breakfast is included for all our guests. Depending on the season and what’s looking beautiful at our local organic market, you may wake up to things like baked apple and cinnamon porridge one day and salted caramel and banana pancakes the next... Allergies or dietary requirements? No problem :) We are vegan friendly too. The room comes with a small kitchenette comprising of a mini fridge, toaster and kettle. You are welcome to make toast and enjoy hot drinks in the room. Full cooking facilities are not included. With limited time between guests, spills and aromas can prove incredibly difficult for us to get out, so we ask that cooking in the room is not undertaken and food brought back is disposed of outside the room in the bins allocated. Thank you for your understanding. HOME GUIDELINES This is our family home. We therefore kindly request the following: - That guests do not throw our belongings on the floor. This includes pillows, which can be placed in the wardrobes provided, or on the sofa. - Our linens are high end and are professionally dry cleaned. Please be aware that food and beverage stains take extra effort for our provider to clean and are charged accordingly. We pride ourselves on choosing superior quality items to give our guests a truly wonderful and unforgettable time away. ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS We are making changes all the time to improve our treatment of our local area and planet earth. Our incredibly pure rainwater is harvested on the roof outside your room. From there it is filtered by a state of the art reverse osmosis system, making it a real joy to drink. Your stay is solar powered. Enjoy our very clean electricity :) We now have four bins provided in the top foyer area. These are divided into soft plastics, compost, normal rubbish and recycling. Please help us by sorting your rubbish into the correct bin. We are so grateful for your help. You have your own private entry and once you're upstairs, you'll feel a million miles away from the rest of the house. Other things to note We apologise that our beautiful helical staircase means there are accessibility restrictions. If you have mobility issues you may struggle to get up and down easily. The stairs are very well spaced and there is a hand rail, however, with luggage you may feel limited. Once in your room, everything is on the same level. There is a small step up onto the deck. The Dandenongs, like anywhere, are not immune to severe weather. On High Risk Code Red Fire Days, we are unable to accommodate guests. If you are staying with us during one of these periods, we will require you to make alternate arrangements for your personal safety. We occasionally get asked about animal products and allergies. The carpet, pillows and doona are wool and feather free. Our cat is not allowed in the Airbnb. To ensure we maintain cleanliness, we are a strictly no-shoe home. There are shoe racks in the foyer areas. In winter you may like to bring slippers if you feel the cold.
