Description
Million dollar views of Wodonga & beyond - at dusk watch the sunset behind mountains, at dawn watch birds fly from tree to tree - this is a true escape! Set in a 1970s 3 storey lodge, with 2 living spaces, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a HUGE 12 metre inground salt pool. Large outdoor deck space to take in views & enjoy a family BBQ - this unique house will not disappoint! Designed by Australian Architect Nicholas Day, this 1970's retro home has a mid-century interior to take you back in time. The space This retro house is very unique, designed by renowed Australian architect Nicholas Day in the 70s. Decorated in a mid-century style with a lodge feel and many original features. Think old school kitchen and bathrooms, exposed brick walls, internal timber cladding. Some upstairs rooms have partially exposed ceiling (facing the hallway cathedral ceiling), to maximise light and airflow. These rooms include the 3 bedrooms, bathroom and powder room. Check the last photos for a view of this. The house oozes retro vibes, so if you're looking for modern conveniences and perfection, this is not the place for you. Fixtures in parts of the house, for eg., bathrooms and kitchen, are old and in original state, therefore they are not in pristine, squeaky clean condition but holding up well for their age and suitable for everyday use. What does it consist of? - 2 separate living spaces on different floor levels - 4 bedrooms (the main on the ground level and 3 others on the first level) - 2.5 bathrooms (1 main, 1 ensuite, 1 powder room) - Dining area with an extendable table able to seat 10 - Laundry with washing machine and dryer - Outdoor decking with access to Weber BBQ - Large 12mtr salt pool (unheated) Carpeted and tiled throughout with cedar lined walls and ceilings and exposed brick walls. Evaporative cooling throughout, central heating and a wood fire place in the main living room. Position yourself on the balcony and you have rolling mountain views to enjoy all day long, as birds chirp in the background. There are 3 levels - so lots of stairs (not suitable for those with mobility issues). The house is also located on a steep hill. Note - Some areas are out of bounds to guests staying including 1 room, small patio space, boat and the garage. There are security cameras around the perimeter of the house. They are not actively monitored once guests checkin. They are used for security purposes and to confirm guest numbers on arrival. Using the property for commercial gain, such as creating social media content, is strictly prohibited unless prior written consent has been provided by the owner/host. Guest access Guests will have access to the house, consisting of 4 bedrooms (3 rooms with Queen size beds, 1 room with 2 King Singles and 1 Single bed) - sleeps 9 comfortably. Access to the property is via a smart lock with a specially assigned pin code for the stay period. No access to: 1 room, garage, boat, small deck space and some cupboards. These areas are locked and inaccessible to guests. Other things to note Car parking available at the top of the property at an off-street location or on the street for free. Cars should not park on the driveway or grass (as can get slippery on wet days) and cannot access the garage. There are security cameras around the perimeter of the house. They are not actively monitored once guests checkin. They are used for security purposes and to confirm guest numbers on arrival. Wodonga is an amazing location, with quick access to many amazing wineries from the Rutherglen region to the King Valley. Beautiful Beechworth, Yackandandah and Chiltern are nearby. Or do a day trip to the snow. Falls Creek is 1hr40mins away and Mt Hotham is 2hr10mins away. Otherwise take a 10min drive and you're in Albury NSW, where you can spend time in their CBD.
