Pradhan's Cottage

The cottage is entirely made of pinewood. It has two bedrooms in the attic and a hall and library at ground level which can be used as a living room. When there are more guests, more rooms in the main house may be used, as well as the living room. Being about 500 feet lower than the Darjeeling town, it is warmer and hence more pleasant all year around. Apples, pears. Citrus fruits are grown here including most English flowers like roses, petunia, carnation, pansies and a lot more. The garden with a lawn is a bonus. Guest access The guests may use the cottage with the attic all for themselves.They may use the kitchen if they wish to cook by themselves. By the way, Mr. Kumar Andrew who is the caretaker is a chef in his own right and is a tsunami survivor. He was working as a cook in a restaurant in the Fukashima prefecture when the tsunami came and was saved in the nick of time. He is a personable sort of guy who will teach the guests a thing or two about cooking and surviving a tsunami! Other things to note If you are looking for an action packed holiday, you are in the wrong place. If you are the sort who love to hear the birds sing and be away from the madding crowd, you have chosen well. Even people recuperating from any illness such as depression will find the place healing. Facing south west it is bright and sunny all day long, a blessing for a cold place like Darjeeling. It has a healing garden where you can read, write a book or paint or just lie down.
