Our 120-year-old turn-of-the-century duplex is more than just a place to stay—it is a gateway to a bygone era. Designed for the true "bourbon buff," the home’s historic soul has been preserved to offer an authentic Kentucky experience. I take immense pride in providing old-fashioned hospitality that begins the moment you touch the sheets; every set of linens is perfectly pressed on our vintage 1940s IronRite for that crisp, premium finish you won't find anywhere else. Best of all, you can skip the Highlands parking hunt; our extra-long private driveway easily accommodates multiple vehicles, ensuring your group’s arrival is as seamless as your stay. Guest access Our home is your home! We truly want you to feel at ease and enjoy your stay to the fullest. We take great pride in offering the warmth and hospitality that Louisville is known for. Whether you’re here for a relaxing getaway, to explore the famous Bourbon Trail, experience the excitement of the Kentucky Derby, attend a local music festival, enjoy a golf tournament, or take part in a convention, we’re happy to ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable time in our city. Think of it as an extension of Southern hospitality—where you’ll be treated like family. We’ve been fortunate to host wonderful guests who have taken great care of our home, and we truly appreciate it. Our goal is to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable visit, and we love meeting new people who share in the excitement of exploring the Highlands and all that Louisville has to offer. While you have full access to all of the shared spaces in the home, there are a few areas (such as certain drawers or doors) where we store personal items. Most of these spaces are not locked, but we kindly ask that you respect our privacy and avoid using those specific areas. We trust that you’ll treat our home with the same care and consideration as you would your own. If you have any specific requirements, questions, or need assistance during your stay, please don’t hesitate to message me. We take pride in providing the kind of gracious, thoughtful service that’s reminiscent of a bygone era. It’s our pleasure to assist you with any requests, ensuring your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. In true Southern style, your comfort and happiness are always our highest priority! Other things to note Parking: We have a very long driveway that can accommodate multiple smaller cars, so you'll have plenty of space to park. We are also licensed to allow one vehicle to park on the street. If you are parking on the street, please ensure you park in the direction of traffic flow and, if possible, fold in your side mirrors to ensure the safety of your vehicle. Please also make sure to keep the sidewalk clear for pedestrians, as this is an important consideration in our neighborhood. Please message me with the number and size of the vehicles you’ll be using, so I can make sure everything is arranged accordingly. While there is parking available, many of our guests prefer to Uber to our home since we're only 3 miles from the airport, and there are plenty of things within walking distance. Additionally, if you're traveling with a larger group, bourbon buses often pick up directly from our house, making it a convenient and hassle-free option for those embarking on the Bourbon Trail. House Rules: We ask that guests respect the quiet hours in the neighborhood, especially in the evenings, as this is a residential area. For your comfort and cleanliness of the home, we do ask that shoes be removed when entering. There are slippers and shoe covers available for use, or you are welcome to wear socks. We hand wash our floors regularly, so we appreciate your cooperation in keeping them clean. Additionally, we kindly request that no open flames (such as candles or cooking with open flame) be used, and we do not allow high-fat meats, like bacon, to be cooked in the home. Temperature Control: This is an older home, so the heating and cooling systems may work a bit differently than newer homes. The basement floors are heated during the winter, but the upstairs can get a little warmer or cooler depending on the season. Please let me know if you have any questions about how to adjust temperatures. We are very excited to be one of the few homes left in the Louisville area that still houses a boiler system. She sits on a pedestal in the basement and it is how we heat those floors! Take a look! Wi-Fi and Entertainment: The home is equipped with Wi-Fi, and we offer a range of entertainment options including streaming services and the large 85" TV in the basement. Feel free to reach out if you have trouble accessing any of these services. Housekeeping and Linens: Fresh linens, towels, and toiletries are provided for your stay. I take great care in ensuring all linens are perfectly pressed using a 1940s IronRite ironing machine, which gives them a classic, crisp finish. If you need anything additional or have special requests, please don't hesitate to ask. Repairs and Maintenance: As this is a working home, occasional repairs may be made to parts of the home during regular working hours. We strive to minimize disruptions, but please be aware that some maintenance may occur during your stay. If there’s anything that needs attention, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to address it promptly. Local Recommendations: If you're new to Louisville, be sure to check out some of my personal recommendations for nearby attractions, local dining spots, and things to do. I'm happy to provide insider tips and help you plan your itinerary! Registration Details STR929525
