Anugraha, A Villa By The River Near Kumarakom

Anugraha is a luxury serviced villa in the central Kerala district of Kottayam. This heritage home was constructed more than a century ago, but it was restored and re-designed with new amenities recently. The 7.5 acres of property on which Anugraha sits is punctuated by canals, a pond, vegetable garden, and many varieties of tropical fruit trees in the village of Aymanam, the same setting as Arundhati Roy's 1997 Booker Prize-winning novel The God of Small Things. The space Anugraha has one Master Bedroom for two people, and an Attic Room, which is outfitted with one Queen-size bed and two single beds, which can together accommodate four people. The Attic Room also has an en suite bathroom. This is perfect space for kids, or a group of friends, who don't mind sharing one common space. Anugraha also has a large bathroom complex, which has enough facilities such that it can be used simultaneously by the guests. This home is perfect for a group or family that's travelling together. Anugraha then becomes a home away from home. Guests at Anugraha will be served all three meals as part of their stay package. Kerala meals are the house specialty, but adjustments can be easily made, and all special requests will be taken into account. Guest access The whole property is accessible, including the pool and grounds. Other things to note All three meals are included in the price. Anything beyond the three meals, bought off the in-house menu, can be bought separately. As per Kerala law, Anugraha does not have a liquor license and so we do not serve alcohol. The cottage is located in a small village and while we try to accommodate out-of-book requests, last-minute demands cannot always be met given the location. Activities: Cooking classes: At Anugraha, we invite guests to learn how to make some of the Syrian Christian meals that are prepared here. We can arrange a class with the house chefs. Kerala Ayurvedic Massage: Anugraha also has a dedicated massage room and shower, where an Ayurvedic massage expert can attend to guests who'd like a session. Boating: For guests who wish to go boating on the Vembanad Lake, we can organise a 2-hour boat ride from Kumarakom. These activities are all charged separately.
