Part of The Vale Penrose—an established luxury farm stay welcoming guests since 2019—the Studio offers a more secluded, nature-immersed experience, where thoughtful comforts meet the beauty of the Southern Highlands. Our charming country retreat is located in the quiet village of Penrose, just a short drive from many of the Southern Highlands’ most loved attractions, including vineyards, restaurants, national parks, and picturesque country towns. The Studio The retreat features a beautifully renovated, fully self-contained independent studio with a luxurious king bed. The studio has its own separate front and rear entrances, offering guests privacy and independence. The front opens onto a furnished veranda, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee, while the rear features floor-to-ceiling French doors leading onto three acres of beautifully manicured gardens. Comfort & Amenities The studio is thoughtfully furnished to provide both comfort and convenience, including: King-size bed Leather sofa 60-inch Smart TV Fully equipped kitchen Full-size dishwasher Washing machine and dryer The luxurious Italian-style bathroom features two rain showers and an extra-large vanity. In the kitchen you will find everything you need, including: Refrigerator Nespresso coffee machine with built-in milk frother Kettle and microwave Bread machine (with bread mix provided) Whether you want to prepare a simple breakfast or cook a full meal, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Breakfast We provide a complimentary continental breakfast, along with some delicious items you can cook yourself, such as fresh eggs from the farm and halloumi. A little further along, you’ll discover your own outdoor fire pit, the perfect spot to unwind as the sun sets, surrounded by the sounds of kookaburras, abundant native birds, and ducks gliding across the lake. Here, every moment invites you to slow down, breathe, and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of nature. A luxury farm stay Guests are invited to explore the full five acres of The Vale, including its mature gardens and open green spaces. Along the way, you’ll meet our resident animals—chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, sheep, and alpacas—adding a charming and authentic rural touch to your stay. Each morning begins with a generous breakfast offering, including fresh eggs from the farm and a selection of continental items, along with thoughtful extras to make your stay feel special. Pet-friendly escape The Studio is pet-friendly, and we warmly welcome well-behaved, house-trained pets. The fully fenced grounds provide plenty of space for your pets to roam safely, while we kindly ask that they remain away from the alpaca paddocks. Privacy & hosting While the Studio is part of the main building, it is completely self-contained with its own entrances, ensuring a high level of privacy throughout your stay. We split our time between Sydney and the property. When we are on site, we are always happy to assist if needed, while also fully respecting your space. When we’re away, we remain easily contactable. Location Located on a quiet country lane in Penrose, The Vale offers a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience in the Southern Highlands. You’re just a short drive from some of the region’s most loved destinations, including Bowral, Berrima, Moss Vale, Mittagong, and Kangaroo Valley, along with wineries, restaurants, and national parks. Approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from both Sydney and Canberra, it’s the perfect distance for a spontaneous escape into the countryside. Guest access Guests will have access to the Studio and to the entire 5 acres of gardens. Guests will also be able to interact with our animals: chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, sheep and alpacas.
