Description
The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat is a unique open concept living space above Corny Coffee in Cornucopia, Wisconsin. We are just steps from Lake Superior and 4.6 miles from the Meyers beach ice caves and hiking trail to over look the ice caves. In summer the caves can be seen by kayak or from the hiking trail. We are also located 20 minutes from Bayfield, Wisconsin and the ferry to Madeline Island. The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat is a no smoking / no pet space. The space The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat has a private entrance and parking behind the Corny Coffee shop. The rental unit has a main level entrance with stairs that go up to the rental space. Although the space is an open concept, the living and sleeping areas are defined and partially separated with shelving and furniture lay out. Towels and linens are provided as well as a nicely equipped kitchenette with a coffee bar, coffee maker, French press, and electric tea kettle. A microwave, dishes, glassware, eating utensils, blender and crock pot are available as well as a nice size refrigerator with freezer. There is a smart TV and free WiFi. A balcony off of the bedroom has a lake view where brilliant sunsets can be viewed. Each guest gets a five dollar a day credit to use in the coffee shop each morning toward breakfast items and coffee or tea. Other things to note The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat is within walking distance to the local grocery store with a deli section that has fresh made food daily from May to the end of October. The store also has essential items and gifts. There are two restaurants, the coffee shop, Kayak outfitter that does sea cave tours in the summer, and a gas stations with a laundry mat in it. There is also a Tiki bar with music on weekends during the summer. The beach in Cornucopia is a shallow sandy beach that gets nice enough to swim in during July and August. You can use inflatable rafts at the beach too. It is a wonderful beach for kids and adults. On Thursday nights from mid June to the end of August we have a concert night with live bands at the coffee shop from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The coffee shop is open on concert nights and also has a dinner entree available to reserve and purchase. There are many hiking trails in the area that I leave a hiking trail map for guests to use as well as area brochures for Madeline Island and local businesses.
