A great get away for groups; stunning scenic views of rolling countryside and the lake; very private and serene. This modern & comfortable open living space is a converted century barn which is great for families. This open and high end kitchen has all you need to prepare great meals. The upstairs is the old hay loft and with high ceilings and 360 degrees of windows - any direction you look you will see the natural beauty Ottertail County. No parties or events allowed- for renters only. The space * The main floor has two private bedrooms, each with a queen bed * The second floor, or former hay loft as of November 20, 2020 has two trundle beds with four twin bed and 3 futon couches with also can be used as a twin beds. * Joten Lake provides bedding for all the beds and towels for your guests. * Kitchen is modern with stainless steel gas stove and professional appliances. Include refrigerator, gas stove/oven, toaster, and dishwasher. We have drip coffee pots, French coffee pot, kettle for tea and a Kurig. We also have all the cookware necessary to make a perfect meal (including a turkey roaster) that you can enjoy inside, on the deck overlooking the lake, or on a picnic on the property to one of the biggest rocks in Ottertail County. *A gas grill is located on back deck * We have hand soap for sinks. We do not provide items needed for showering. * Our property has heat and cooling provided by a geothermal system. *Both floors of the Barn, feature separate stereo amplifier system with in-ceiling speakers for your listening enjoyment. This main floor stereo is also connected to the 2 speakers deck side on back of barn. An ox cord is available to connect to your smartphone. The loft level system also has radio access and Bluetooth. *There is a large deck (located on back of Barn) for enjoying morning coffee over a beautiful sunrise, or an evening cocktail viewing evening sunset. * A metal fire pit converted from an old on-site watering system for cows includes some chairs and benches. Additional portable chairs are located on the main floor closet. You do need to bring your own firewood. You are welcome to grab fallen sticks off the land as kindle! * The best views are of the sunsets and sunrises off the deck overlooking a shallow late which has no swimming or boat access. Just 6 miles from I94, There is MUCH to do in Otter tail County. Joten Lake Acres is located only 4 miles from the entrance of the Central Lakes Bike/snowmobile trail, 3 Golf Courses with in a 20 mile radius, Many lakes with in a 20 mile radius including Eagle Lake one of the CLEANEST lakes in the State of Minnesota. Guest access The Driveway is slightly long and windy and is comprised of gravel and dirt, as is Joten Lake Road that leads to the property. This road can be slightly muddy when wet and the hills make all wheel drive most ideal in winter. There is parking for guests. Please drive slowly down the dirt road as it is very curvy and the area has a lot of deer. The caretakers are neighbors who have grown up next door and are just a phone call away, they will check in sometime during your stay to make sure everything is going great. The rental space is all yours, you have your own kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms. The garden apartment is a new space offered in 2019 in the lower level of the barn which may also be rented out at the same time. Keeping this in mind there is a private entrance to this space. The laundry room is the only shared space located in the lower level (you'll see the stairs which lead to the basement from the main floor) with Jack and Jill doors. Feel free to use the laundry as needed. The Grainery guest house is another separate rental only offered to host larger groups once the barn and garden apartment are already rented. These private rooms have heat and AC but no running water or bathrooms. We DO NOT encourage pets and yet if you bring your pet there will be a $100 per pet in additional fees paid in advance of the rental. Other things to note The area has local dining, bike/snowmobile trails, fishing/ice fishing, hunting, other services like massage and local artists. There is a nature center in Fergus Falls, some great local museums in Alexandra and Fergus Falls. There are swimming areas and golf courses in the area as well -- we highly recommend Stalker Lake Golf Course about 15 minutes away; they also have a great dining on-site!
