Jasmine Cottage in the beautiful Elagiri Hills

Come and enjoy peace and nature in the beautiful Elagiri Hills! Our space is a serene retreat space, surrounded by nature, mature gardens, and a lot of greenery, but only a short drive to the town with restaurants and activities. If you want to experience what it is like to live outside of the city, this is just the place for your next weekend's getaway! The space Camp Samaritan is beautiful - peaceful and calm - and a great escape from the city, or just the hustle and bustle of life. We are surrounded by nature, mature gardens, and a lot of greenery, and this is a big part of who we are: We love the natural world and consider it a privilege to be guardians of this parcel of land in this stunning valley. We would love for you to come and stay with us! Camp Samaritan is part of the Samaritan Residental School, which offers children from all walks of life, a holistic education. If you stay with us, you help us to give underprivileged children a chance to enjoy a good education, so they can become a valuable member of our society. This is the perfect location for families, friends, or groups: we have 6 lovely cottages set amongst the stunning Elagiri Hills. You would have the whole of Orchid Cottage to yourself, complete with 2-bedrooms, a kitchen area, and a comfortable dining and sitting room with TV. We can arrange catering to be brought to you at an additional charge. Each compact cottage has its own small outdoor sitting area, though you are welcome to enjoy the gardens which have a variety of shady places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. There is a climbing frame and roundabout for smaller children and gardens where we keep animals and grow seeds. Please note the approximate area for each cottage is 500 Sq.ft. including the sit out. Surrounded by beautiful hills in the midst of a nature reserve, there are many places to trek, including the awe-inspiring Swami Malai peak and the easier hike to Prayer Rock, both of which are easily accessible from here and give fantastic views of the surrounding villages and into the valley below. At night you can see the stars without the city's light pollution. For the more adventurous we are close to adventure and fun activities such as mini-golf, quad biking, and zorbing! We are about 5 km from the town of Athanavur (a short 10-minute drive), although there are a couple of local shop stalls within a 10-minute walk. Please note: We are in the natural valley. There are bugs and crawlies, and the water is sourced from a well, which means it is not filtered but is purified like in a hotel. _________________ Kindly help us keep the place clean, we'd appreciate you bearing one of our favourite sayings in mind: 'Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints'. _________________ Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the gardens as they wish! Other things to note Our camp is next to the swamimalai trekking path, from which you will have a beautiful view around the area and valley. You can see beautiful birds like Indian Peafowl, White-throated Kingfisher or Parakeets just in front of our gate.
